In July, I'll be taking on an abseil at Millers Dale in the Peak District with MPCT Manchester and RBL Failsworth as a joint fundraising challenge with Carolyn Tasker Angie T Chipman Mark C Ruthven (and his grandson) Chris Worden Les Gandy Jack Wild – we must be mad! 😬

We're raising money for the Northwest Air Ambulance in memory of Paul Wadsworth and we'd be incredibly grateful for any support you can give.

Every donation, no matter how small, will help this amazing charity continue providing life-saving care when it's needed most.

You can donate via our JustGiving page here:

Thank you to everyone who supports us and helps keep Paul's memory alive through this fundraising effort. ❤️

"Wish us luck – I know I'll need it!"

‼️It’s brilliant to see local businesses and community organisers working together to bring more events, footfall and community spirit into Failsworth. 👏👏👏

‼️Failsworth is proving once again that community spirit is alive and thriving! ❤️❤️

Thank you.

A big thank you to everyone in Oldham who voted Reform UK.

We smashed it and are in a position to win big and take control next year. We now have 16 Councillors, the second largest group on the Council.

🗳If you vote Reform UK, you get Reform UK.

‼️IMPORTANT - message for postal voters.

Myself and Mark Wilkinson Failsworth West received a complaint that the adhesive on the return envelope was inadequate - attached.

I received a reply from the Elections office today - attached.

Has anyone else had this issue?

Please email Mark or myself or comment on this thread so we can collate the data.

ANTI-SOCIAL BEHAVIOUR

Myself and Cllr Mark Wilkinson Failsworth West attended a Teams meeting on Thursday 30th April 2026 with Insp Amie Whitehead, Sgt Rob Coggins, Sgt Nana Pabby and Phil Bonworth (Operational Manager, Community Safety Services) to discuss the ongoing anti-social behaviour around Partington Street and surrounding areas.
📣 We were assured that GMP, Community Safety Services and local schools are working together and have been actively discussing all reported incidents and dealing with them accordingly. **It is really important that incidents ARE reported in order for resources to be directed into our area.
📣 Police body worn cameras and CCTV from local shops will be used to help identify those involved.
📣 The Friday kick pitch sessions are now back in place but will be monitored closely. CCTV will be reviewed and anyone identified causing trouble will be dealt with through the appropriate school channels. New rules will also be introduced, with names, addresses and schools attended being recorded. There will not be anymore free food at these events as it was thought it was attracting participants from outside the area.
📣 Anyone found responsible for anti-social behaviour may receive warning letters from the council, be spoken to in school and could be required to attend warning interviews with their parents.

‼️‼️ NB: Persistent anti-social behaviour can have serious consequences. In some cases, landlords may be informed where family members of tenants are involved, which could ultimately place tenancies at risk.

‼️‼️We will continue pushing for firm action so residents can feel safe and respected in their own community once again.
