Mayor 2026/2027
Councillor Scott Haslam

β€œIt is with great pleasure that I confirm my appointment as the next Mayor of Featherstone for the municipal year 2026-2027. I will be supported during my term of office by my wife Nicci and daughter Raven.

As the Mayor, I wish to briefly outline my objectives and vision for this esteemed role.

My principal objective is to foster a sense of unity within our community, encompassing both local businesses and residents. Featherstone boasts a robust community, deeply rooted in its strong farming, working and trade union traditions. Our town is significantly stronger when united rather than divided.

I am committed to ensuring that our community rallies around a common cause, Featherstone. Accordingly, I have chosen the Featherstone Rovers Foundation as my designated charity. This organisation is at the heart of our community, providing invaluable services to families, the elderly, and everyone in between.

I warmly encourage local businesses to consider pledging their support, whether through donations, in-premises collections, or by taking part in our community events, including our Gala. In recognition of your generosity toward my chosen charity, I will make sure your contributions are acknowledged and celebrated across our community.

And to everyone else, I extend a simple invitation: please get involved in whatever way you can.

Further information will be provided in due course. In the meantime, please contact the Featherstone Town Council office with any questions, pledges of support, or to learn how you can get involved.

Thank you”

A huge shoutout to Isaac Burns, who last night at the Annual Town Meeting was presented with a Mayor Says Thanks Award for his amazing work carrying out and organising litter picks across the town! πŸ‘πŸ§Ή

Isaac has taken this on completely off his own back and has done an absolutely fab job helping to keep our town looking its best. It was lovely to see just how much support he has β€” and it’s easy to see why!

His hard work, dedication and community spirit really do make a difference, and this award is so very well deserved.

Thank you, Isaac, for everything you do β€” and congratulations! πŸŒŸπŸ’š
