Time is running out to share your views.

Our survey on the future of Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service closes this Sunday.

We’re currently developing our next Community Risk Management Plan (CRMP), the five-year plan that guides how we keep people across Lancashire safe. At this stage, there are no proposed changes; we’re simply asking communities what matters most to them.

Your feedback will help shape how our services are delivered in the years ahead, and we’re keen to hear from as many people as possible before the survey closes.

Take part in our short survey here:
www.smartsurvey.co.uk/s/LFRS26

Closes 5pm Sunday 15 March 2026

Your response will help guide how we protect and support communities over the next five years.

πŸ“† 16/02/2024 - Station drill night

πŸ§‘πŸ»β€πŸš’ Tonight's training incorporated both hands on practical and theoretical lessons.

πŸͺœ First up, we made our way out onto the drill yard and put our new drill tower to good use, utilising 2 x service ladders. The larger 10.5 meter ladder and the smaller triple extension ladder. Firefighters practised correct procedures for mounting and dismounting ladders safely.

πŸ–₯️ We then made our way into the lecture room for a lesson on high rise buildings and immediate building evacuation.

🏫 Today we had the absolute pleasure of supporting our colleagues from Community Fire Safety in delivering vital prevention and protection education to students from Springfield House School in Pilling.

πŸ§‘πŸ»β€πŸŽ“The young adults we met and spoke with were very keen to learn about our equipment, our role and had lots of questions for us.

πŸ§‘πŸ»β€πŸš’ Definitely some aspiring Firefighters in the audience today and we wish you all the very best in your future career's. Thank you once again for hosting us, the crew of Garstang Fire Station

πŸ§‘πŸ»β€πŸš’ After lots of questions and answers we made our way to the playground where the children learnt about our equipment and helped us sq**rt some water πŸ’¦ which went down a treat.

β˜• After a quick break, our crew returned to station and washed the Fire Engine πŸš’.

βš•οΈ We then conducted equipment checks on our Trauma Bag ensuring our operational readiness.

πŸ§‘πŸ»β€πŸš’ 23/01/26 - Training and development πŸ§‘πŸ»β€πŸš’

πŸ’¦ Our Friday began with Firefighters going out into the community to inspect hydrants, ensuring they remain operational and suitably marked to help us easily identify them.

β˜• After a quick break we engaged in an open water pumping drill, this simulates a real world scenario crucial to our function, sharpening our efficiency at getting water to work from an open source quickly and efficiently.

πŸŽ₯ The afternoon culminated with on station Hydrant and Ladder drills. Nothing we do happens by chance, and it is through continuous skills monitoring, development and learning that we ensure the best possible service to the communities we serve.
