Five Bridges roundabout will be closed overnight tonight (Monday 15th June) for our contractors to continue preparations for the next stage of the demolition of the Gateshead Highway flyover.
The roundabout will be closed from 8pm until 6am tomorrow morning, Tuesday 16th June.
Diversions will be in place as usual.

We're incredibly proud of the young people who took part in this important ITV News feature and shared their experiences so openly and honestly.

This feature is not the end of the conversation. At Youth Focus North East, we are committed to using the voices and experiences shared to influence decision-makers, strengthen investment in youth work, and ensure young people help shape the policies and services that affect their lives.

Work is starting this week on a new expansion of Gateshead’s District Energy Network.

The network is growing to cover the northern end of the town centre area.

Our contractors will first be working in the central reservation of the A167.

The new pipework will be installed over several weeks.

The work has been carefully scheduled to coincide with the closures required for the demolition of the Gateshead Highway flyover, to ensure any excavations required on the roads will coincide with closures already required by the demolition contractors.
