🌟 Great communities don't just happen – we build them together.🌟

That's exactly what we saw at the Love Gillingham Big Day Out on Sunday, as local people, organisations and community groups came together to celebrate everything that makes Gillingham such a strong and connected place to live.

Throughout the day, the MVA team had great conversations with local people about what's happening in the area and where they can go for support, advice and opportunities to get involved. From introducing the Joy Platform so you can discover the right support and local community groups, to carrying out research to identify barriers preventing you from engaging in physical activity, it was a pleasure to connect with so many people who are passionate about their community.

We really appreciate everyone who stopped by for a chat, shared their experiences and helped make the day so special!

The event was full of smiles, energy and community spirit. Mark was spotted enjoying the bubbles, and Will and Heather had some fantastic conversations with residents, offering advice and signposting people towards local support and opportunities.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined the event and helped make it such a fantastic day. Together, we're building stronger, healthier and more connected communities. 💙

We have another great event happening in town this weekend, Saturday 25 July from 12 Noon in Balmoral Gardens.

Let Loose - Moving Ahead is a free annual community outdoor music concert that is in its 12th year hosted by MJ Praise. There will be performances from artists and speakers with attendance from the Mayor and Royal Representative.

This year there will be a picnic with free refreshments and is aimed at giving a glimmer of hope to victims and survivors of abuse. There will be performances from artists and speakers with attendance from the Mayor and Royal Representative.

It was great to see so many local businesses and organisations on the high street for this year's Big day Out - Love Gillingham.

Our thanks go to Naushabah Khan MP and her team, Medway Council and all the wonderful communities we have in Gillingham.

Also thanks to the new Gillingham Community Network for all they do to help. If you're interested in getting involved with the Gillingham Community Network we have meetings on the third Tuesday of every month from 6pm at The Salvation Army hall in Green Street.

🏊 Children under 4 years of age must be accompanied in the water by a responsible person over the age of 16 on a 1:2 ratio

🏊 Children aged 4 to 8 years of age must be accompanied in the water by a responsible person over the age of 16, on a 1:3 ratio. Responsible person over the age of 16 may supervise up to 3 children aged between 4 to 8 years in the water.

🏊 Children aged 8 up to 16 years of age must be accompanied into the facility by a responsible person over the age of 16 years, ratio 1:4. The responsible person is not required to enter the water but must remain within the facility and supervise the children.

⚠️Please note that you may be refused admission if you have too many younger children per adult.

What a fantastic day out on our high street today for Love Gillingham Big Day Out 2026. We were entertained by Live bands and street performers. Enjoyed some wonderful food, watched some wrestling and so much more.

Thank you to everyone for attending this year's Love Gillingham Big Day Out event 2026 🎈 It brings this year's Love Gillingham weekend to a close.

It's been a fantastic day with over a few thousand of you coming down to Gillingham High Street and joining in the fun 😁
