Speed Watch
This morning, Tuesday 25th August, between 1030 and 11:30 am members of the Glinton speed watch team monitored vehicle speed outside our Primary School.

The purpose was to establish whether the new electronic speed awareness sign has had a positive effect on drivers behaviour prior to the start of the new academic year.

Unfortunately not, out of the 80 vehicles monitored, 20 exceeded the 20mph limit with one travelling at 32mph.

Only one speeding vehicle was recordd as displaying false number plates. Normally the figure is much higher!

Glinton Garage Sale 26
Once again the Garage sale returns on Sunday 13th September from 10am until 1pm. If you wish to declutter, sell your stuff and generate some cash, just buy a place on the Great Glinton Garage Sale Map. Place £5 in an envelope along with your address and post it through the door of: 5 Rectory Lane or 3 Elm Crescent or 14 Peakirk Road by 5th September 2026. There will be a treasure trail for the kids and marvellous refreshments ranging from delicious breakfast baps to fabulous cakes in the village hall. Pop up shops to receive entries are taking place on Friday 4th September outside the primary school from 3pm and the village shop on Saturday 5th between 9 and 11am.

Glinton Community Orchard - volunteers needed

Although we hoped the rain would appear by now the drought conditions are continuing and we need to save Glinton’s fruit trees by watering them yet again.
Are you free to help us water our community orchard on Tuesday 18th August at 9:10 am? If so please come along with buckets/watering cans. It should take no more than 20 minutes🤞

🌳 Help our Community Orchard thrive🍎🍐

Glinton village Community Orchard is flourishing, and we're looking for volunteers to form a fun filled Community Orchard Working Group.

The group will help care for and develop the orchard, organising occasional maintenance sessions, looking after the young trees, planning future improvements, and helping ensure it's a welcoming community space for everyone to enjoy.

We're particularly keen to hear from anyone with experience or knowledge of fruit trees, orchards, horticulture, or gardening, as your skills and advice would be invaluable. However, enthusiasm and a willingness to get involved are just as important, so please don't let a lack of experience put you off.

If you'd like to be part of the working group or would like to find out more, please comment below or send us a message via: [email protected]

Together, we can help our Community Orchard flourish for many years to come. 🌿🍏

Because drought conditions are continuing we need to save Glinton’s fruit trees by watering them yet again.
Are you free help us water our community orchard on Tuesday 4th August at 9:10 am? If so please come along with buckets/watering cans. It should take no more than 20 minutes.
