Colesbourne Gardens is the premier place to see snowdrops in bloom. The collection is probably the most varied of any garden on display, with over three hundred varieties of this spectacular harbinger of spring on show during the short season.

The 2026 Snowdrop Season begins with the first open weekend on 31st January, then every weekend until 29th February.

A new month and another The English Garden Magazine article this time on Colesbourne Gardens one of my favourite snowdrop gardens. It meant an early, cold start to get the photos!

I’ve been visiting Colesbourne for as long as I’ve been garden writing and have seen it develop over the years - I was even invited to speak alongside Mary Keen at a Snowdrop Study Day. What hasn’t changed over that time is the garden’s atmosphere and ability to lift even the dullest winter day.
