Our Travel & Transport Committee meet on Tuesday morning at 11.30am. Residents are welcome to attend and can speak on items that are on the agenda. or simply come along to understand the work the committee are doing to help safer travel in our village.

Thank you to residents who took time to contact us about the possibility of Battle Road joining Oxfordshire County Council’s Quiet Lane scheme. As a result of this feedback, the Parish Council has resolved to withdraw our original expression of interest, and to take no further part in the scheme. We do, however, remain committed to supporting active travel in the village through the work of our Travel & Transport committee and the work they are doing on a cycling infrastructure plan and a car free/low traffic route to Wallingord. We're grateful for the support of Cllr Maggie Filipova Rivers in these initiatives.

After receiving reports on the dirtiness of the bridge lamp posts, we investigated and took action. There were a lot of spiders! If you have any concerns about your local environment, please report them to by emailing [email protected]

Open Spaces Committee meets this afternoon and will be receiving updates from the Bike Track, Teen Spaces, Sheepcot Pavilion and Ferry Lane Working Groups as well as discussing village signage. As part of our efforts to keep the village safe and tidy, our facilities team will be proactively trying to identify problems. They have divided the village into 4 zones that they will tackle zone by zone on a weekly basis. This will include use of the w**d ripper.
As part of this initiative we have created a new email [email protected] we encourage residents to use to feedback on issues they encounter in the village.

Watch out for the Pavement Piranha!

SGN GAS WORKS & ROAD CLOSURES
From 13th July through to November SGN will be working across Goring and this will mean road closures or traffic control.

SGN will be working in the following area:

Lane Between Mill Road and Bridle Way

Millers Close
Nuns Acre
Thames Road
High Street
