Cllr Simon Taylor

Cllr Simon Taylor Reform UK Councillor for Humberston & New Waltham, North East Lincolnshire.

Really concerning to see this happening in New Waltham. Throwing objects at horses and setting fires isn’t harmless mischief, it puts animals, residents and potentially the young people involved at serious risk.

Please, if you’re a parent or carer of young people who spend time around this area, have a conversation with them about what’s been happening. And if anyone witnesses incidents like these, please report them through the appropriate channels.

Thank you to the residents who have raised the issue.

🚧 Upcoming roadworks – advance notice for residents

Just a quick heads-up about some planned roadworks taking place on Sunday 23 August and Monday 24 August.

The Council will be carrying out a trial of an asphalt rejuvenation treatment at:

📍 A16 Peaks Parkway – between Low Farm Roundabout and Weelsby Road
📍 Hewitts Avenue – between Low Farm and Peaks Lane
📍 A16 – between Peaks Parkway and Becklands Roundabout
📍 Fieldhouse Road, Humberston – Full Length

The works on Sunday 23 August will take place under road closures and are expected to be completed within the day. Fieldhouse Road is scheduled for Monday 24 August, again with completion expected the same day.

The treatment is preventative maintenance designed to help protect the road surface and extend its life, reducing the need for more disruptive repairs later on.

⚠️ The works are weather dependent, so timings may be subject to change. Advance signage has been put up at the affected locations.

Please bear the closures in mind when planning your journeys, and feel free to share this so other local residents are aware. 👍

Three young lads from Cleethorpes — Harry, Oliver and Jacob, all just 10 years old — have spent their summer working on something that could genuinely help save a life. 🌊❤️

As part of the Humberside Police Lifestyle project, they’ve created Three Hearts, One Goal, their own beach-safety campaign aimed at helping children and families enjoy our coastline safely.

Their video covers some really important advice, including what to do if you get into difficulty in the water, rip currents, buoyancy aids and staying safe while paddleboarding.

They’ve also been out fundraising for the RNLI and lifesaving equipment, producing posters and leaflets, approaching schools, attending events and doing everything they can to get their message heard.

For three 10-year-olds to put this much time and effort into helping keep other people safe deserves our support.

So I’m very happy to help them spread the word.

Please watch their video, share it, and help Harry, Oliver and Jacob get their beach-safety message in front of as many families as possible.

Well done, lads. 👏🌊

Three Hearts, One Goal ❤️❤️❤️
