📍Chilworth- road closure 📍

I have been working on the Thames Water issue in Chilworth A248 Dorking Road closure and happy to confirm that work has begun on site and the repair will be done today the delay was due to a custom part they needed which is now being fitted.

I have asked for better signage around HGVs not being suitable for the diversion routes and explained the area is one to flag and look closely at when this type of issue happens.

I have also asked for a push on this particular issue to be resolved as quickly as possible. The contact I spoke to was very helpful and will keep myself and other councillors updated. I can’t confirm a date of completion but they are hopeful for completion close to the original date, potentially Tuesday.

Chilworth

I am working with Guildford Borough Council on getting this removed. I reported it to Surrey CC and it was taken off their website instantly. Maybe they did that in error, who knows.

Guildford officers are working hard on finding out why this has been left for so long. It’s now a hazard.

Will update once we have an outcome.
