🌈 STRETCHY WRAP CLEAR OUT 🌈

As I was digging through our stretchy wraps today I noticed a lot of them need updating. Some are brands that no longer exist. Some have been with us for a while and need a refresh! I even have 3 brand new ones.

They will range in price from £5-£20 plus post but if you would like a bargain stretchy which will fund our FREE newborn hire scheme let me know!

Colour wise we have

Navy, aqua, purple, mustard, black, grey, teal and maybe others up for grabs!

A few super light fabrics for summer and a few regular weight ones. No super thick ones.

Last weekend for two things!

Also after offering free postage on postal hires for 6 years it is coming to an end. It has been a hard decision but with rising costs we’ve decided this is the best way to keep our hire prices always low.

This means that hires are still £10/15 for 2/4 weeks hire and renewals are only £5/10 for 2/4 weeks longer. One of the cheapest rates around but we’re just asking for the postage rate of your choice to be covered.

But if you want to grab a bargain hire you have until Sunday at midnight to get one!

Thank you to the lovely Little Goose Play Cafe for having us today! It was such a lovely clean bright space and I really recommend if you’re down in Tavistock to pop along for a coffee! This was just the first room. There are two more rooms beyond this!

You will find us there next month (booking will be essential again while we figure out the timings) but if you need any support between now and next month we can help online and offer postal hires. Or your welcome to come visit me up past Okehampton!

Bookings today enabled me to bring one box of carriers rather than three boxes of carriers that I didn’t need!

These sessions are fast passed and efficient so chatting to us in advance is a great way to speed things up! Or we may suggest if you want to try 3-4 different carriers a consultation might be best!

If you wish to volunteer some time once a month for 90 mins let us know! We could do with some admin help and someone just to chat to families!

BOOKING ESSENTIAL!!

We are moving venue! You will find us tomorrow at Little goose play Cafe 10-11

We are now asking people who need support to book a space.

Due to only having an hour as the venue closes at 11:30 and it is looking like it is just Emily we need to be as efficient as possible so for this first session we are only able to support 5 families.

You DO NOT need to book if you’re just returning hires!

Before attending I will ask a few questions so I know what carriers to bring and get you to make an online account

📮 POSTAL HIRE UPDATE 📮

At the end of the month we will be charging postage so now is the time to hire!

So many people have told us to do this for years but we’ve held off as long as possible.

We haven’t changed our prices or charged postage on our hires to you since 2020 but with the rising costs we’ve decided rather than putting prices up we will start to charge postage. This will keep hires at £15 and renewals at £10 for 4 week hire periods for everyone. But those further away postage will be £3.65 as standard or £4.65 for faster postage. This is just the postage cost and we will continue absorbing the packaging and fees costs

After postage, petrol, fees, packaging, washing we have only just been covering our costs so it’s not a decision we’ve made lightly and thought this will still keep our service cheaper for local families

A day in my life

Just an insight but I wouldn’t change it for anything.

As many of you know I run the sling library and shop behind the scenes solo. I sometimes have some in person help at meets but everything else is done by myself.

What many people know is I also home educate two children and have a husband who works crazy hours and I squeeze emails and work in when I can.

I also have Audhd. And can forget my own head if it isn’t attached (which does make me very fun person to talk to when it comes to slings!)

So a day in the life of me. Today’s day!

This morning.
Wake up. Kids breakfast. Get dressed and ready for the day.
Food shop arrives and I realise I never cleaned the exploded sweet potato or fridge yesterday
8:30 - quick email reply’s
9:30- Chuck food in fridge and say I’ll clean it later and spray down oven.
9:45 - learning starts! Maths and reading today.
10:00 - quick email replies while work is going on
10:15 - go oh bu**er I needed to start the washing machine
10:20 - resume maths
11:30 - finish packing hires and sales and take to the post office
12:10 - lunch!
12:15 - realise I forgot to clean the things I was meant to clean. Spray down and forget.
12:20 - try to fix online learning account and test.
12:45 - spelling!
1:30 - forgot to clean again. Quick wipe down and respray as it’s not done a decent job
1:45 - emails again. I can manage 1-3 per sitting.
2:00 - start thinking this would be a good post of why it’s so chaotic to be a self employed home Ed mum!
2:15 - still writing. Realised I haven’t eaten today…

Then for the rest of the day - will reply to one or two more emails
Taekwondo
Clean fridge
Clean oven
Attempt some gardening
And must remember to eat something.

This doesnt include the online lessons, help with piano, talking and looking at the Lego they’ve created and the million conversations about would I rather have a giant ant to ride or a giant moth to fly on 🤣

This is why sometimes I take a while to reply. Or sometimes I’m replying at 10pm or reply straight away. I had around 13 emails to get through from the bank holiday weekend and I know there’s a few longer ago ones which I’ve opened and missed!

I really do appreciate the nudge emails I get after 24 hours as a neurodivergent person as I am non stop most of the time.

I am just one person and my kids education will always come first and you lovely people who buy slings from me are helping save for something to make my life much easier and those who hire keep the sling library going!
