🌸🌿 GARDENS GALORE! 🌿🌸

Looking forward to supporting Long Marston & Puttenham locals on Sunday 28th June, from 2pm to 4.30pm, for Gardens Galore in Long Marston and Puttenham!

🏡12 beautiful private local gardens each with its own unique charm and attractions. As you wander through the villages, you'll also have the opportunity to support both local and national charities.

Glad to see there is something for everyone:
🌺 Stunning gardens and wildflower meadows
🌱 Plant stall
🍹 Pimm's and Prosecco
🍦 Ice lollies and soft drinks
☕ Delicious tea and cakes served by the WI

👧 Children and dogs are very welcome, with dedicated areas for them to enjoy

Entry is by a single modest donation, payable at Long Marston Victory Hall (cash or card) or at any participating garden (cash only). All entry donations will go directly to supporting the Old Church Tower and Churchyard Trust, helping to preserve this important local landmark for future generations.

🚗 Parking is available at Long Marston Victory Hall and Oakley House – just follow the signs.

I attended a small flag raising ceremony in our stunning Walled Garden in Gadebridge Park (please do visit), Led by the Mayor of Dacorum, Cllr Garrick Stevens to kick off Armed Forces Week.

The ceremony was attended by the Deputy Lieutenant for Hertfordshire Air Vice-Marshal Nicholas Kurth, local dignitaries and representative from the Hemel branch of the Royal British Legion and Armed Forces community.

June 22nd is also Windrush Day and we honoured the contribution Caribbean migrants and their families have made to the UK in 1948, bringing hundreds of passengers from the Caribbean to the UK to rebuild the Uk after world war 2.

Lots of lovely ways to take part in The Great Big Green Week on Sunday 14th in Tring you can spending the morning - tidying tring by picking litter, join in some gardening in the allotments and finish off the day wtih a plant sale, music tea and cakes in a God's Acre, St Marthas Church. 🌿♻️💚

As Dacorum Armed Forces Champion I am delighted to see a funding offer for this well deserving community. 🇬🇧

To mark Armed Forces Day, we're offering small grants to support local projects that benefit our Armed Forces community.

Organisations based within Dacorum can apply for up to £500, with a total fund of £2,000 available. Funding must be used to directly support veterans, serving personnel or their families living in the borough.

If your project helps recognise, support or improve the wellbeing of our Armed Forces community, we’d love to hear from you.

Applications will close on Wednesday 17 June.

It has been fantastic canvassing with the brilliant community architect Hugo Hardy and hearing about his care and deep knowledge for the Cornerhall and Apsley ward in Hemel Hempstead. If you were one of the 750 residents he has door knocked over the last few weeks. I'm sure you will of seen what a kind, diligent, hard working and care driven councillor he will make. Councillor Robin Bromham and I look forward very much to welcoming him as a brilliant new asset at DBC at the by election this Thursday! Fingers crossed! 💛

Love Wins in Tring this week. 🏳️‍🌈

How pleased I was to see the Tring High Street shops support the LGBTQ+ community and Tring Pride with some ingenious and amazing window dressing. Showing that everyone belongs here!

Congratulations on your amazing work Grace & Son Almar (Tring) Our Bookshop The Bell @ Tring Nonnas Supper Club House of Cards, Almar, Oh Lucky, Tring Shoe Repair and Fancy That. Even Pyramid Pharmacy had bunting 🏳️‍🌈❤️🌈

For LGBTQ+ young people, visually seeing that the community recognises and respects them, can have a significant impact on well-being and confidence and communicates acceptance.
