Great to have colleagues from across Gascoyne: Cranborne Hatfield Park at Groundswell Festival these last two days. Thought provoking talks, old acquaintances met and lots of new connections made. Our own Dan Moore speaking today made for a real highlight of the two days. 10 years and growing for Groundswell. We’re firmly in the bring it on and spread Regen wide camp! 🙏

Cranborne Fire Station is one of eight stations across Dorset and Wiltshire proposed for closure.

Public meetings in each affected town or village will be taking place to allow local communities to greater understand the data and impact of any closures. There will also be online dial in sessions for each town or village, giving those affected the opportunity to share their views.

The consultation opened on Friday 13 February and continues until Friday 15 May 2026.

Public meetings in Cranborne will take place at Cranborne Village Hall/Cecil Memorial Hall, Water Street, Cranborne, BH21 5QB on the following dates:

Wednesday 11 March: 11.30am – 1.30pm
Thursday 12 March: 7.30pm – 9.30pm

The online dial-in session will take place:

Cranborne station covers a large swathe of Cranborne Chase — a National Landscape with significant wildfire, thatch and agricultural fire risk. The Dorset Council Local Plan (August 2025) proposes 87 new homes in Cranborne, 107 in Sixpenny Handley, and further growth across Alderholt — adding hundreds of new residents to this station's ground over the next decade.

Our keepers will be at Boveridge Fair today, Sat 31 May - running the BBQ with our own produce. Lots of other stalls selling cakes, plants and local produce. Gates open at 10am

Our team from across Gascoyne and have started their 24 hour Three Peaks challenge - raising money for . The team should be down Ben Nevis early this evening and then we drive to Scafell Pike for a night time climb. Snowden last and should be done in 24 hours total!
