Working Together for Stronger Communities and Thriving Towns.

Blaenavon Town Council's Community Wellbeing Development Officer recently joined colleagues from Abergavenny Town Council to deliver a presentation to the Abergavenny Ladies Business Association, highlighting the exciting Heritage and Tourism Cluster partnership between our two towns.

The session showcased how Blaenavon and Abergavenny are working collaboratively to develop heritage and tourism initiatives that celebrate our unique histories, attract more visitors, and create new opportunities for local businesses. By combining our strengths and sharing resources, the cluster aims to boost the local economy across both towns while ensuring that community wellbeing remains at the heart of everything we do.

Members of the association heard about current projects, future opportunities, and how businesses, community groups, cultural organisations, and residents can play a key role in shaping memorable visitor experiences that benefit everyone.

A huge thank you to the Abergavenny Ladies Business Association for the warm welcome and engaging discussion. We look forward to continuing to work together to strengthen our local economies, support our communities, and showcase the very best of Blaenavon and Abergavenny.

Another fantastic day at Blaenavon Town Council’s monthly Befriending Film Club! 🎬🍿

Today we were delighted to welcome Gwent Police, along with a member of their Cyber Crime Department, who spoke to residents about online fraud, scams, and ways to stay safer online.

This month’s film focused on the topic too, but in a lighthearted and entertaining way, helping everyone learn important information in an enjoyable and engaging setting.

Officers also took time to speak with residents about any local concerns and kindly handed out anti-theft items and safety resources to help keep our community safe.

It was lovely to see so many familiar faces, although we definitely missed a few of our regulars and hope to see you back with us next month! ❤️

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the event such a success

☀️ SWIMMING TRIP TOMORROW ☀️

A quick reminder to everyone joining us on tomorrow’s swimming trip — the coach will be leaving the Workmens Hall at 11.50am prompt, so please be there in plenty of time.

We still have a few spaces available if anyone else would like to come along! With temperatures set to stay high, it’s the perfect way to cool down and enjoy a fun day out 🌊💦

🌟 Blaenavon Town Council is thrilled to once again support and work in partnership with Torfaen Play to bring this fantastic Food and Wellbeing Camp to our community this May half term! 🌟

This free camp offers children aged 5–11 the opportunity to enjoy fun activities, make new friends and receive a hot lunch each day in a safe and welcoming environment. 🍎🎨⚽

📅 Tuesday 26th – Thursday 28th May 2026
⏰ 10:00am – 3:00pm
📍 Blaenavon Heritage Primary School

Places are free of charge, but pre-booking is required using the QR code on the poster.

🏊Community Swim & Slide Sessions May Half Term🏊

Blaenavon Town Council are delighted to be providing a free community swimming and slides session on Tuesday 26th May at Pontypool Active Living Centre in partnership with Halo Leisure Torfaen

Coach transport will also be provided, with the coach leaving Blaenavon at 11.50am.

The swimming session is taking place 12.30pm-1.30pm.

UPDATE – TENBY TRIP NOW SOLD OUT!

Due to huge demand, Blaenavon Town Council coach trip to Tenby on Thursday 2nd July has now completely SOLD OUT!

Thank you to everyone who has supported the Town Council to continue delivering events for our community, we are incredibly grateful for your continued support and enthusiasm.

Should any seats become available, these will be advertised here, on the Blaenavon Town Council page.
