After weeks of work by all three councillors and numerous conversations and emails, we are really please to see that Lees Lane has been cleared and believe a vehicle has been seized as part of ongoing investigations.
We are now looking at the best measures to prevent a repeat of this disgusting crime and blight on our beautiful countryside.

We received concerns raised by a resident that the Collins memorial clock had not been put back after the building renovations at the former Hipperholme library.

Following some chasing with council officers I am pleased to confirm it has now been reinstalled.

Despite it going to a specialist clock repairer it does not appear to be working, so further enquiries are being made and updates will be provided.

Following concerns raised by local residents regarding parking around St Giles Road on matchdays, Brighouse Town FC introduced a number of new parking measures for their recent fixture against Halifax Town.

The club put in place additional signage to prevent double parking, installed cones along the pavement side of the road to help improve access and road safety, and also opened up additional parking on their training and junior pitches to increase capacity.

We would like to thank Brighouse Town FC for engaging positively with the concerns raised and for working cooperatively with the local community to trial these measures.

A statement from Leader of Calderdale Council, Cllr Dan Sutherland, relating to the removal of Pride Progress banners across Calderdale:

'We have ordered the removal of the installations which were placed on Council property without approval. This has been done at no cost to the taxpayer.

Installing the Pride Progress banners without the appropriate consent is illegal. This is under rules as set by the UK Government. Calderdale Council is committed to ensuring the rule of law is followed and will enforce vigorously against those who choose to act illegally.

To be clear, this commitment to the rule of law extends to condemning homophobic behaviour. Calderdale is an inclusive place where people are free to express themselves and live happily free from prejudice. We stand firm against those who spread hatred or seek to inflame community tensions through divisive actions.'

W**d control taking place in Lightcliffe right now.
After a long wait we have operators in Lightcliffe working on really badly overgrown roads and pavements.
We hope to extend this work in the coming weeks.
