So as I'm approaching my first month in Jersey here's a little snippet of some of the weird and wonderful thing that have come into work!

Some pets - gecko, a terrapin and a bearded dragon, and an array of wildlife!

Seagull, afew hedgehogs, baby rabbit, and if course Crush the logger head sea turtle

So far having a great time and awaiting the warmer weather so I can get out and do some proper exploring!

Just a quick update I wanted to share.....the packing is in full force....the house looks like a 100 ferrets have had a party 😂🙈 and the garden is looking weird and empty 🥹

The last little hedgehog was released last week so it was finally time to move the hutches into storage!

The largest two will be moved this week, Mavis is currently hibernating in a small one and the other 3 smalls ones are already in storage.

The shed is almost empty with most of my supplies been donated to the amazing - lots of hay, food and pet carriers

And honestly couldn't think of anywhere better for it to go and I know it will be put to good use. Martin at Hornbeam helpped me alot with donations, supplies and advice when I first started and I probably wouldn't have got off the ground as quickly as I did without his help!

Only 6 weeks till the big move 😱 and still with half a house to pack up it's chaos 😂 but I'm sure it will all work out on moving day 🤞

It's been a hectic 6 years and very bittersweet moment but hopefully I will be back bigger and better!

I will post some updates of my Jersey adventures and all the wildlife I get to see....and of course the baby seals I'll be getting to play with 🤭🦭

Update on the adult hedgehog that arrived afew days ago....

After a full examination I can confirm it's a female

She still isn't doing too good and over the weekend a large abscess on her head burst 🤢 most likely from a bite wound. I cleaned and flushed the best I could at the rescue but it refilled so brought her into tonight to sedate, full exam and cleans and flush the wound.

As you can see from photos one (before) and two (after) how large it was!

She's still not out of the woods yet and it's very touch and go but tonight was the first time in 5 days she has shown any interest in food 🥳 so taking the small win!

She will continue with pain relief and antibiotics and with some luck on our side she will pull through 🤞🤞

Release time for this little bean.

Brought in back in June by the lovely Kerry after seeing him twice out in the day time looking very small and unwell and around only 200g.

After dealing with some horrible worms and two rounds of treatment he finally started to put on weight and now healthy at almost 600g

Kerry also donated a nice supply for food!

Thank you Kerry and good luck little fella 🦔

Two new arrivals today!

One very tiny hoglet at just 168g! Far to small to be away from mum but otherwise healthy.

And this very poorly adult, 740g but still underweight and horrible nasel discharge.....I'm not sure this one will make it 😥 but as always everything will be done to help the little bean

If you would like to support the work we do at The Haven via PayyPal ( tag ) or bank transfer (please DM for bank details)

New arrival yesterday in the form is this little squab.

Found on the ground and freezing cold when brought in wasn't actually sure he was going to make it!

Quickly warmed up the little guy and now living his best life in the incubator

Still no guarantees he will make - at this age they are very sensitive and he's definitely not as bright as I'd like....but at the moment doing ok and taking feeds well
