For any ladies that are interested there is a new running group started by Amy Pardon on Thursdays nights meeting outside Holt Community Centre 👇

They'll be meeting at 6pm for a 5k route and from what I gather from the poster it will be a very relaxed vibe and an inclusive group that will make every women feel welcome and supported ❤️

Please turn out and show your support and hopefully the running group can become a success 🙏

🎒 Help with school uniform and back-to-school costs

With the new school year approaching, I wanted to make sure local families know that support is available through Norfolk County Council’s Crisis and Resilience Service.

If you’re struggling with the cost of school uniform, including shoes, you may be able to apply for financial help.

The support is aimed at Norfolk residents who are experiencing financial hardship, including people receiving benefits and those working on a low income with very little disposable income. Applications are assessed based on individual circumstances and the evidence provided.

👉 Apply specifically for school uniform support here: www.norfolk.gov.uk/uniform

You can also find out more about the wider support available through the Crisis and Resilience Service at www.norfolk.gov.uk/CRS

📞 If you’re unable to apply online, you can contact Norfolk County Council on 0344 800 8020.

Please share this with anyone locally who may find it useful. With back-to-school costs adding up quickly, it’s important that families know this support is available.

I have had a very swift response from RCP parking regarding the power outage yesterday and the relevant email can be found below:

Good afternoon, Connor
Thank you for your email.

We were made aware of the power cut which impacted the car park machine at the CT Bakers Budgens car park, Holt, yesterday which caused some technical until around approximately 10:00am this morning today.

All visitors to the car park were still able to use the online payment system, PayByPhone, where any payment made before midnight would be valid for their parking session during the day. This online feature is available at all times where payment can be made before midnight on the day of parking at this location.

We have also taken steps to ensure that motorists affected by the machine caused by this power outage will not be adversely affected as a result.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you require any further assistance or information.

Kind regards

It has come to my attention that some local residents and visitors to Holt may have been affected by the powercut when parking at Budgens when using the RCP Parking app 🙁

I was informed by a local that the start time of the parking tickets reset due to the powercut to display as the time just after rather than the time that the tickets were purchased 🎫

I have emailed RCP parking to seek reassurances that no one who legitimately bought a parking ticket will receive a fine for something that is out of their control and when they have paid to legally park at Budgens 👍

Here in Holt we have a lot of young people that feel their voices are not necessarily heard 😞

It's very sad and depressing but beneath Holt's facade of affluence and economic comfort we have one of the highest child poverty rates in the whole of North Norfolk and we really need to work to address this however we can ✊

We need more employment opportunities, more social housing and local authority housing or homes to buy that aren't ridiculously priced and out of reach of first time buyers 🏡

I know it can be very easy to be cynical and I know that as a former (albeit begrudgingly) young person and think that this won't solve anything but a lot of people do care inside and outside of local politics, want better for our young people 📈

Things can change for the better and it's only by your voice to the conversation that things can change ❤️

Please fill in this survey from Steff and the team if you'd like to give your views as a young person as to what you'd like to see tackled in Holt, High Kelling and Letheringsett with Glandford ✍️

The survey can be filled in below 👇

Everyone has an opinion ABOUT young people.

But I want to hear FROM young people!

If you're between 13 and 24 and live in North Norfolk, I'd love to hear what's working, what isn't, and what you'd change.

It only takes 7 minutes, and it'll genuinely shape the issues I focus on.

Are you an unpaid carer? Have your say on the future of Carer’s Allowance. 🔊

The UK Government wants to hear from unpaid carers as part of a major review of Carer’s Allowance, in the first full review of the benefit since it was introduced 50 years ago.

If you provide unpaid care for a family member, friend or neighbour, your experiences could help shape future changes to the benefit. To find out more and take part, visit the link in the comments before 18 August 2026.

Would like to wish everyone a very happy Norwich Pride! 🌈

It's so important for us to further the conversation to protect, uphold and strengthen right's for the LGBTQ+ Community not just here in the United Kingdom but across the entire globe 🌐

Being gay remains illegal in 66 countries across the globe with 12 of those imposing the death penalty 😓

We are lucky to live in a country where we have made great progress on gay rights in the last 20-30 years but gay people still face prejudice now and we still have some way to go ✊ Only just this month we have seen the new Reform Norfolk County Council minority administration ban Pride
initiatives from County libraries, remove the progress flag from County Hall and generally adopt a more hostile environment to our LGBTQ+ Community 😒

We cannot allow years of progress and hard fought for rights to be undone, love is love! 🏳️‍🌈❤️

I am delighted to announce that the local member fund approved by NNDC is now live and we have access to a sum of £4000 per District Cllr 💸

This money can be used to support our fantastic local initiatives in Holt, High Kelling and Letheringsett with Glandford and I am keen to ensure that it is used wisely and constructively 🧠

We have many brilliant local charities, community initiatives, non-profits and voluntary groups that could definitely benefit from a little extra money 📈

The money could even be used to fund Town or Parish Council projects for our ward 👷

I would really like to hear your thoughts of how we can use the money to better improve our wonderful ward, what would you like to see?💡
