The Friends of Horley Infant School are offering letters from Santa again this year, however, we need a company to frank the envelopes for us. We estimate an uptake of 90 children so roughly £69 cost in postage.
Can anyone approach their place of work with a franking machine to ask if they can help us in return for us to promote them on the letter coming out in December please?
Could you let us know by tomorrow (Tuesday 17th Nov), even if to let us know you are asking, as we will need to send out forms to parents soon.
Many thanks
The Friends of Horley Infant School

HORLEY INFANT SCHOOL ANNOUNCES TOUR DATE FOR PROSPECTIVE PARENTS FOR ADMISSIONS INTO RECEPTION SEPTEMBER 2021

Horley Infant School will be running self-guided tours on SATURDAY, 24TH OCTOBER from 9 a.m. at 10 minute intervals. Masks will be required to be worn while you are touring the school and groups may be no larger than 6 people. Children are welcome to visit with you but must stay with you at all times. Regrettably there will not be any toilet facilities available.
Bookings can only be made over the telephone, to book a slot please call the School Office on 01293 782263. We anticipate the tour of the school will take you approximately 1 hour. You will require a smart phone with an internet connection for use on the tour.
We would be grateful if parents who have recently had a child attend our school, or who have a current sibling in school, do not request to visit. We would like to try and accommodate those who have not seen our lovely school as we only have limited slots available.
We will be making sure that while you are in school all the current COVID guidance is adhered to and we will make sure that safe social distancing is in place. If for any reason circumstances change and we have to cancel the tours, we will contact you on the telephone number you will provide us on booking your slot.
From Saturday, 24th October there will also be a Virtual Tour of the School available for you to see on our Website if you are unable to visit.
We look forward to seeing you in school soon.

FAO Families of new Reception Starters!

Welcome to the start of the new school year! The Reception team are really looking forward to welcoming your child into school next week for their stay and play sessions. Could we please remind you that due to the current guidelines only one adult may attend with your child and you and your child are welcome to wear masks if you feel more comfortable with this. Unfortunately we are unable to welcome siblings into the classroom at this time. Children are encouraged to wear their uniform but they will not need to bring their book bags for this session. They are, however, welcome to bring a drink bottle with water with them.

Picnic - Sunday 6th September 2020 - CANCELLED
Unfortunately, due to the limitations still in place by the Government for both indoor and outdoor organised gatherings, we are unable to host our picnic on Sunday 6th September. We are very sorry about this as we were really looking forward to having our yummy sandwiches on the field with you all - maybe another time!

Surrey County Council - Petition to: Improve the road safety of children attending Horley Infant School

We have lodged a petition with Surrey County Council to improve the safety of children at Horley Infant School. We need a minimum of 30 signatures (by 26 August) for it to be heard at the next meeting of the Reigate & Banstead local committee which is on 9 September. We are asking for …..

• The installation of railings outside school entrances in Lumley/Albert Road and along the staff car park path to restrict parents and children walking through the car park. The installation of railings will immensely improve safety and help avoid any unnecessary accidents
• To relieve traffic on Lumley/Albert Road, we are asking to increase the amount of town car park permits issued to 80 and increase the allocated “free parking times” by 10 minutes morning and afternoons; the existing times are: 8.45-9.15am and 2.45-3.15pm; an improved time frame would be: 8:30 – 9:15 and 2:45 – 3:30
• To replace the double yellow lines painted directly outside the rear school entrance on Albert Road with extended school zig zag lines, thus making it a no parking zone for all vehicles/drivers during drop off and collection times
• To increase the frequency of Parking Patrol Officers on both Lumley/Albert Road to be more visible to drivers and help deter any inconsiderate parking

Please visit https://petitions.surreycc.gov.uk/HIS-Road-Safety/#detail and sign our petition before an accident happens!
