With heatwaves, drought, heavy rainfall and flooding becoming more frequent, we need to take steps to adapt to our changing climate and minimise the impact it has on our neighbourhoods, buildings, and services.

By planning and taking steps now, we can work together to build more resilient communities, homes, and businesses.

World Water Week is here!

Have you ever thought about how you could Lose the Leaks in your Leaky Loos!🚽 Now that's a tongue twister!

Did you know a leaking toilet can waste between up to 400 litres every single day, without you even noticing? That's the same as 50 - 100 extra flushes! And think of all that money you are flushing down the drain with that water πŸŒͺ️

There's an easy method to check your toilet for leaks.
1. Wait around half an hour after flushing
2. Place a piece of toilet paper on the back of the toilet bowl
3. Wait three to four hours (or overnight) without flushing.
If the toilet paper is wet, this indicates you may have a leak.

You may be able to fix a leak yourself if you are confident at DIY, otherwise a qualified plumber will be able to repair this for you.

We’re so proud of the beautiful county we live in πŸŒ…

With its unique mix of countryside, towns, and coastline, West Sussex is a place we all want to protect and cherish.

As we face challenges such as flooding, extreme weather and pressure on local services, West Sussex County Council, in collaboration the the District and Borough Councils in West Sussex, are planning for the future.

And that’s where we need your help - we need you to tell us if we have the right approach so we can work together to protect the natural world around us and improve local areas and communities.

Happy International Youth Day! Today celebrates young people as a core part of our society while raising awareness of the opportunities and challenges that our youth face globally.

We currently have the largest generation of youth in history, with almost 2 billion young people between the ages of 10 and 24. These young people are going to be heavily impacted by the decisions of older generations around climate change, and have an important role to play in future climate action to help move us towards a sustainable future.

Does your child have a voice that should be heard? Our youth is the future, so to empower the youth of Horsham District we're shining the light on our Youth Forum, which they can join to share their ideas on any topic, not just climate action.
