South Molton 2nds 1-1 Combe Martin 2nds

The reserves were on the road again on Saturday as they travelled to South Molton for the second game of the season.

The first half was evenly matched, both sides taking turns to go forward and a lot of tackles going in in the middle of the pitch. South Molton came closest to an opener as an effort from the edge of the box smashed the crossbar, shortly after we also hit the bar with a Connor James effort from a tight angle. Not long before the break it was Combe Martin who struck the first blow as a brilliantly delivered Freddie Holman free kick was bundled over the line. 1-0.

We came out for the second half with confidence having taken the lead before the break but soon faced a pushback in the form of a Mikey Comley red card, after he had a few too many cross words for the referee. A man down we battled brilliantly for the duration of the second half and had some threat on the counter, a Connor James effort from a set piece struck the post and was scrambled off the line. Shortly after we had a golden opportunity to extend the lead with a penalty which unfortunately flew over the bar.

Our watertight defence was eventually broken in added time at the end of the game as a cross wasn’t dealt with and the South Molton attacker pulled off a great finish to sn**ch 2 points away from us at the death. A disappointing end to the game after such a hard battle from everyone but in the end not a bad point to pick up in a tough away game. On to the reserves’ first home game on Tuesday night against Braunton 2nds.

Brixham for a new install at a solar energy site 🧯✅

Working at height today! In work restraint! My fire service training came to good use today!

Had to think outside the box with this one! The cabin contains Ammonia ☠️ and was eating away at the suppression fittings.

So we’ve located the system to a waterproof firebox on the outside and placed all the tubing inside conduit.

By the time next years service comes their will be a platform and hand rail around the outside of it.

Another new customer gained today. Their equipment was super old outdated and actually Illegal! Halon extinguishers are a criminal offence to keep!

Now they have all the correct equipment installed and are ready to take over their new venture ✅🧯
