Solders from the Bn are currently deployed to Italy on a battlefield study. Learning more about the battles of Cassino, and relating this to current conflicts is proving insightful and enjoyable.

Today we visited the Cassino war graves, with an act of remembrance from the Padre for all who fell during the Italian campaigns of WW2.

Members of 7 Bn played for the Wattisham Warriors in the Addis Cup (AAC 7’s tournament). 🏉

The team came away winning the Bungle Bowl🏆and huge congratulations to LCpl Teo from 71 Coy for winning player of the tournament!

7 Avn Sp Bn football team recently progressed to the semi finals of the Craftsman Cup beating 2 Bn REME at leuchars station 2-3.

As they prepare for their semi final clash against 16 Brigade, they are also fierce contenders for the UK Midlands League. Currently sitting 2nd place, with the reverse fixture versus the league leaders (23 Engineer Regiment) still to be played at home on the 17th April, the league winner could be decided ⚽️

Last week saw many members of the Bn developing their battlecraft skills in the rain on Hankley Common. Not only are our people skilled engineers, logisticians, chefs and administrators, but they are trained to be soldiers first.

Saint Eligius day, the REME patron saint, saw the Companies having to build Go Karts to a strict set of criteria, then race them to the target range and fire tennis balls at targets from the kart.

70 Field Company have been deployed on Ex ASKARI PHOENIX 2 in BATUK, Kenya. Today they hosted the CO, Lt Col Jones and RSM WO1 Strydom, before embarking on a weekend, adventure training package, including white water rafting and Kayaking.
