Essex Fire Volunteers enhance the Service, build relationships with local communities and provide individuals with the opportunity to learn and develop new skills.

Our volunteers supported Dunmow fire station and prevention staff to visit a sheltered accommodation site in the local area. The team engaged with residents from more than 20 flats on the site. Lots of safety information was given and referrals for follow up visits were made also. A big thanks to everyone involved, great work!!!

A big thanks to our ECFRS volunteers Ron and Ann for attending the Canvey Transport Museum today. They engaged with lots of people throughout the day, promoted fire safety, took home visit referrals and gave information on our fantastic fire museum in Grays. Well done. Great work!!

Our volunteers supported Braintree Fire Stations' open day this weekend. They were able to speak with more than 100 people about fire safety and generated many home fire safety visit referrals. Our volunteers were also able to display historical artefacts and promote the Essex Fire Museum. A big thanks to all of our volunteers and the staff at Braintree station for running such a great open day. Well done!!

This week is National Volunteers' week.

We would like to say a huge thank you to our brilliant ECFRS volunteers. Over the last year they have given more than 5000 volunteering hours. They have supported: station open days, community action days, targeted interventions, museum events and ECFRS exercises and simulations. We could not achieve the great amount of prevention work we do each year without our volunteers help, enthusiasm, and commitment. Your are fantastic. Well done!!!

Our volunteers supported an open day at Epping Fire Station on Saturday 16th May. They spent lots of time speaking with the public about fire safety and were able to generate many referrals for free home fire safety visits. The volunteers also put on a display on behalf of the Essex Fire Museum to represent fire service history in the local area. Well done to everyone involved. Great work!!!👍👍

A team of ECFRS volunteers supported prevention staff, local police and local authority representatives to promote fire safety today. They attended the Chalvedon area in Basildon and spoke with local residents, provided safety advice and took referrals for home visits / smoke alarm fitting. A fantastic effort by everyone involved.😊😊

A big thanks to our volunteers for supporting an ECFRS exercise this week at Princess Alexandra Hospital, Harlow. The exercise was based around ECFRS's response to chemical exposure. Our volunteers supported the multi agency day by playing the role of casualties. Well done to everyone involved.😊

A big thankyou to all of our volunteers who supported the sheltered accommodation targeted intervention scheme over February and March. Thirteen volunteers joined crews and prevention staff to promote fire safety and reduce fire risk among vulnerable residents. Between them they gave over 150 volunteering hours.
This really was a fantastic effort by our brilliant team of ECFRS volunteers. Great work!!

Our volunteers supported the Hamelin Trust this week with their Christmas tree collection scheme. The idea was that members of the public make a donation to the Hamelin trust for their trees to be collected. More than two hundred trees were picked up over a couple of days. The Hamelin Trust support people with autism and learning disabilities. They really are a fantastic organisation.
Well done to everyone involved!!!
