Thank you to everyone who turned up yesterday for the community litterpick

It was lovely to see so many people wanting to make a difference locally and once again amazing (and disappointing) to see how much litter was collected in approx 2 hours.

NNC HOUSEHOLD RECYCLING CENTRES

The photo on this post is taken from the NNC website and I wanted to let everyone know to avoid wasted journeys.

They are currently:

• Limiting domestic drop off of fridges and freezers to ONE per visit
• ID will be required to drop off a domestic fridge or freezer, proving you are local to the HWRC.

This is due to a fire at a national recycling centre, reducing capacity.

I will put a link to the NNC website page in the comments.

What do you have planned today?

Kettering Repair Café is OPEN today, 10–1pm!
Got something broken? Bring it down, the team l would love to see you 🔧✨

I’m popping in later with a pair of jeans that have seen better days… wish them luck.

Repairs are now walk‑in, so just rock up and they’ll take care of you.

And even if you’ve got nothing to fix, still come for a brew and a chat.

It’s as much about community as it is about repairs ❤️

See you there!

This is a direct appeal for help.

Over recent months, the Westhill Estate has experienced a rise in reports of anti‑social behaviour (ASB), vandalism and damage to property.

Key organisations (e.g. Police, housing associations, ground works etc) have been alerted, and while work is already underway to tackle these issues (I’ll share more on this in a separate post), agencies such as Northants Police really need your evidence, to help support the community.

📹 Evidence & Reporting

If you have CCTV, Ring doorbell footage, or mobile phone video of any incidents - please report all occurrences, no matter how small.

Even a brief clip or observation could be the missing piece of the jigsaw that helps build a full picture.

When reporting, let the Police know you have this evidence available.

🤝 Alternative Options

If you’re not comfortable contacting the Police directly, please reach out to me or Steven Geary

We can discuss alternative ways to share information that you feel comfortable with.

Together, we can help make Westhill a better place for everyone to live.

Kind regards,

Steve and Lee

Kettering deserves a town centre that feels safe for everyone — and right now, residents have a real opportunity to influence the decisions that will help make that happen.

North Northamptonshire Council has launched a consultation on a proposed Public Space Protection Order (PSPO) for Kettering town centre. Many of you will remember that a PSPO was previously in place, helping to manage issues that were having a negative impact on our town centre.

A PSPO is a tool available to councils under the Anti‑Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014. It allows restrictions to be put in place within a defined public area where certain behaviours are causing harm or nuisance to the community.

The proposed order aims to address concerns we hear regularly from residents and businesses - anti‑social behaviour and street drinking, unauthorised leafleting and other behaviours that affect safety, wellbeing and confidence in the town centre.

This is your chance to help shape the future of Kettering’s town centre. Your feedback genuinely matters.
