🗑️ If you were out and about in town this afternoon, you may have noticed something new on King Street.

Our new compacting bins are now in place, with a few handy features to help keep the town centre cleaner.

They can hold around four times more waste than a standard bin, are designed to keep out seagulls and vermin, have a handy foot pedal to open and have built-in sensors that let our Cleaner and Greener Communities team know when they need emptied.

If you’re passing through King Street, give them a try and help us keep the town centre clean and tidy. ♻️

📌 Sharing this as a reminder about the current free parking options in Kilmarnock town centre, and the need to display a ticket. 📌

A woman recently stopped me in the car park behind the Bank of Scotland to tell me parking was free and I didn't need a ticket. She didn't know about the need for a ticket.

Visiting Kilmarnock? Remember you can benefit from free short-stay parking in selected council car parks and on street pay and display bays.

✅ 2 hours free in selected car parks
✅ 30 minutes free in on street pay and display bays
✅ Parking remains free all day on Sundays

🅿️ You’ll still need to register your free parking session by getting a ticket from the machine or by using Pay by Phone.
