DOWEA - Lakenheath Elementary School DOWEA is a field activity of the Office of the Secretary of War. Each region is managed by a Director for Student Excellence.

Grades Served: PSCD; Pre-K, K-3 It is headed by a director who oversees all agency functions from DOWEA headquarters in Alexandria, Virginia. DOWEA's schools are divided into three regions; DOWEA Europe; DOWEA Pacific; and DOWEA Americas

. Within each of these three regions, schools are organized into eight districts headed by district superintendents. Generally accepted standards of etiquette for our Social Media Users

Dear Eagle Families and Students,

💙As we close out a fantastic school year, we want to take a moment to thank you for being such an important part of our Eagle community. This year has been filled with growth, achievement, and memorable experiences, and we are incredibly proud of all that our students have accomplished.

💛To our students, your hard work, determination, and positive spirit have truly shined. Whether in the classroom, on the playground, or during school events, you have continued to represent what it means to SOAR like an Eagle.

💙To our families, thank you for your continued support, partnership, and encouragement. Your involvement makes a tremendous difference in the success of our school and the growth of our students.

💛Now it’s time to enjoy a well-deserved break! We hope your summer is filled with rest, fun, adventure, and special moments with family and friends. Take time to recharge, explore new interests, and enjoy the sunshine. We are open in the summer from 0900-1500 except weekends and holidays.

Dear Parents and Guardians,

As we approach the end of another wonderful school year tomorrow, we would like to share details about our annual end-of-year celebration, the Dance Off and Clap Out, which will take place on the last day of school.

Weather permitting, the event will be held on the grassy area by the flagpoles from 10:50 a.m. to 11:20 a.m. If weather conditions do not cooperate, we will move the celebration indoors to the gym.

Families are welcome to join us for this special event. If we are outside, parents and guests are asked to stand behind the flagpoles or behind the students. If we are indoors, seating will be limited to the gym bleachers due to space constraints.

Many of you have likely heard your child talking about the Dance Off! During this fun tradition, students and staff dance to some of their favorite songs. We will also take time to recognize our certified staff members who are departing this year and celebrate our third-grade students as they participate in the annual Clap Out.

Following the event, students will be dismissed for the day. Please remember that this is a half day of school.

It has been a pleasure working with your children this year. We are proud of all they have accomplished and grateful for the support of our families throughout the school year.

Whether your family is PCS'ing, retiring, moving to a new school, or returning to us in the fall, we wish you a safe, relaxing, and enjoyable summer break. Thank you for being part of our school community, and we look forward to seeing many of you again next year.
