Important Announcement: Closure of The Starting Point Centre

It is with a heavy heart that I announce the closure of The Starting Point Centre due to insolvency. Despite my best efforts, financial challenges have led me to this difficult decision. I have worked tirelessly to find funding to continue the work we do over the 3 years and 3 months we have been supporting families. We have supported 596 children to meet their non-resident family members. I have personally funded the whole project and have no regrets whatsoever; other than the reality of how hard it is to raise enough funding to support the service.

I want to express my deepest gratitude to you for the support you have given us throughout the years.

The centre was working well with the right people and systems in place. Sadly, the overheads and difficulty in navigating funding have outweighed the financial success.

I am truly devastated but will now strive forward with my mediation work to continue my drive to help families rebuild.

Wonderful news! We passed our NACCC - National Association of Child Contact Centres Accreditation today with flying colours! We have been open for 3 years now and supported over 500 children to see non-resident family members.

I am very proud of the Centre and the staff who are my greatest asset 👍🤩 Big thanks to everyone in our team and to everyone who has been part of our journey to become such a fabulous place for families to re-build and get the support they need. 😁🎊🎉

Hello everyone, sorry I haven't posted for a while. I have an exciting update for you all. 😁🤩

As part of my ongoing lease my landlords of 20 years are now in agreement for me to sub let my soft play area, cafe area and playground to someone else who wants an exciting new addition or new venture to create a local stay and play cafe for the community.

My family contact centre will continue alongside my family mediation work as these are going from strength to strength.

This stay and play and cafe opportunity can add value to an existing company but could also be a great start for someone starting out!

Our facilities are excellent, and the community deserves more support to activate our children. 👶👪

Happy New Year 🤩

We are delighted to announce that Fiona has been accepted to work as a deputy manager at St Gemma's Hospice but very sad that she can no longer run our stay and play sessions here at The Starting Point Centre 😢 we wish you all the best Fi 👍🏻 👏

We are reviewing this service and will post back soon if we are able to continue, which is dependent on finding someone who can run it as well as Fi did.

This service would continue to be part of our community interest work, and money raised will go towards families needing our services to see their children when going through divorce or separation and also our BOB project for Foster children.

Also, we would need to charge £5 per child, which will include drinks for the children, a drink for the adults, and some cake and biscuits 😋 This is in order to cover our overheads.

Please let me know your if you would like the service to continue by posting your interest & if we are lucky enough to find someone to run it, we will be back in touch.

What a magical day it's been, decorating waffle trees, 🎄 singing snowflake songs,☃️ sharing Christmas stories and a special visit Santa Clause too.🎅 Huge thanks to my special helpers, Catherine, Martin, Leanne & Steph 🥰 It really has been wonderful to share Wednesday mornings with you. There's no session next week but we hope to start them again in the new year.
