Here are some pictures of Year 1 children exploring Dinosaur skulls and fossils. As part of our dinosaur topic we have been thinking about where dinosaurs came from. Some children had the chance to explore some dinosaur skulls!

In our science lesson last week, Year 4 had fun investigating whether people with longer femurs could jump the furthest. We used the tape measures to record our jumps. There were some interesting results!

Year 5 & 6 enjoyed a practical DT lesson last week practising using glue guns, saws and hammers safely ready for when we start building our own Anderson Shelters linked to our WW2 topic.

Nursery have settled in brilliantly and have had a great time exploring our fabulous provision inside and out. They have been making new friends, learning rules and routines and practising how to share. We are very proud with how superbly they have settled. 🌟💫

THE whole school had an absolutely amazing time at The Great Yorkshire Show yesterday, there was so much to see and do!
From sheep shearing to sitting in a fire engine; making wooden necklaces to watching show jumping, the list of things to do was endless!
A big thank you to all the organisers and the helpers who ensured this was a really successful day for everyone. The manners and behaviour was a real credit to the entire school. Well done everyone!
Here are a few sights from the day...

Year 6 had a lovely morning last Thursday walking down to Esholt Woods as part of their eco-schools study on biodiversity. They conducted studies of the biodiversity within the wood and compared it with the biodiversity in the school grounds. What a great way to enjoy the glorious sunshine!

YEAR SIX had the exciting opportunity to experience an aviation day delivered by the BMFA (British Model Flying Association) and organised by one of our school governors, Helen Jones, who is a member. The BMFA is a national organisation that promotes model flying and supports schools in teaching children about the principles of flight, engineering and design.
Children took part in a range of fun, practical activities designed to help them understand how things fly. This included:
Building and flying their own aerojet model
Designing and launching a stomp rocket
Exploring simple ideas such as lift, balance and stability

We would like to say a huge well done to all of our Year 6 children for working so hard during the build-up to the SATs and during SATs week. All of the children have displayed excellent learning attitudes towards the SAT papers they have completed this week and should feel proud of themselves! Year 6 were treated to a well-earned ice lolly this afternoon. Well done Year 6!
