🌟Potty / toilet training🌟
Research shows that it is better for your child's bladder and bowel health to stop using nappies between the age of 18 and 30 months. We can help prepare our child for potty training by encouraging 'potty learning' skills when they are able to sit up - normally between the age of 6-9 months.
Toilet training is one of the topics that we will be discussing with you at your child's development reviews at around 10 months and also again at your child's 2 year review. 🙂
If you feel like you need some further support regarding toilet training, please call the 0-19 service on 0113 8435683.
The ERIC website is also a fantastic resource for potty training:

Children aren’t just learning facts, they’re learning how to think about learning.
This is Growth Mindset!

When children understand that they can get better at things, they:
Get better at handling challenges
Find feedback helpful
Learn to keep going and feel confident

As parents and carers we can help by:
Praising how hard they try, not just the end result
Encourage them to be curious instead of worrying about being perfect

Have you seen the recent update on advice for the use of Rapid Cooling Devices from First Steps Nutrition?

🍐 NHS guidance advises that powdered infant formula should be made with freshly boiled tap water that has cooled to no less than 70°C because powdered infant formula is not sterile, and hot water helps to kill bacteria that may be present in the powder.

Please visit: https://www.nhs.uk/baby/breastfeeding-and-bottle-feeding/bottle-feeding/making-up-baby-formula/ for NHS guidance on using infant formula
