Leicestershire County Council is offering 16-25 year olds unique voluntary work experience placements to help young people gain the skills and experience to better compete in the job market. According to national statistics, 20% of 18-24 year olds are not in employment . Young people are struggling to demonstrate suitable work skills to potential employers and cannot compete in the current job mar

ket. The Get Set project wants to help change this in Leicestershire! Leicestershire County Council is committed to offering local young people the chance to gain real positive work experience alongside professional staff in a range of departments. Get Set aims to help change the future for young people who are willing to take the challenge. Get Set is a new and exciting project which aims to help you get the skills you need to get the job you want!

General information

As part of Get Set, you will be supported on a 3-6 month voluntary placement with Leicestershire County Council and mentored by a skilled member of staff. We will take a personalised approach to provide you with training and guidance and help you to build the skills you need to compete in the job market. The project will work with you to explore your motivations, personal goals and career aspirations and tailor the placements to match your needs. The ultimate goal is to take steps to support you into suitable employment. Are you 16-25 or up to 30 with additional needs? Are you looking for a job? Are you a school leaver? Graduate? Preparing to leave education? Need a change in direction? Been unemployed for a long time? Are you enthusiastic? Free to get involved one day a week for 3 – 6 months?
