BS5839-1 dictates that any fire alarm panel, as well as it’s subsidiaries and devices, must be wired with genuine Fire Rated Cable, and must be secured in place using steel fixings 🔥🔩

In the event of an emergency, your fire alarm system is designed and purpose-fitted to alert people of the fire, and to last for as long as is necessary to allow everyone inside the building enough time to get outside to a safe place ⏰✅

The Fire resistant cables are specifically designed to maintain circuit integrity and continue to work for a specific time under defined conditions for 30, 60, or 120 minutes. This means that even though cables are significantly affected, they continue to work 🔥✅

Our engineers recently arrived at a site to simply change an outdated panel for the clients. Upon arrival we discovered that the majority of the devices in line with the system had been wired in Two Core & Earth cable (T&E), and were therefore not fit for purpose in this fire alarm system. We then began the task of replacing all of these devices, as well as the installation of some new ones, with the correct fire protective cable, fastened to any surface using steel clips or saddles 🪛✅

We also fitted the system with a new safe isolation switch, and left the clients with a fire alarm system they could feel safe with, knowing their site had the best protection possible! ✅
