** Dust Update – North Hykeham Relief Road **

Thank you to everyone who has contacted me regarding the dust coming from the North Hykeham Relief Road construction site today.

I have now received the following update from the project team:

“Thank you for raising your observations and making us aware of the social media posts.

We are taking this issue seriously and only today have taken delivery of a 27,000 litre bowser to work along side the two 900 litre bowsers that are currently running up and down the haul roads.

As you know we have positioned a tanker in the near layby so that we have a quicker turnaround when filling up.

Unfortunately today Anglian Water needed to carry out a trial hole in the access and blocked the access back into the works, something we take full responsibility for not coordinating better.

Aswell as the additional bowser we have also arranged for a trial of a new dust suppressant initiative that uses a product that is derived from natural gas and comes in a liquid form. This is environmentally sensitive and approved by the EA.”

I will continue to raise all complaints that I receive, or that I am tagged in, with the project team.

However, given the ongoing issues with dust, if you wish to raise your concerns formally and directly, you can do so via the Lincolnshire County Council contact form here:

SWALLOW LODGE UPDATE

Thank you to the families who met with me today in our campaign to save Swallow Lodge respite centre from Lincolnshire County Council’s proposals to close the service.

I heard directly from those receiving care about how much Swallow Lodge means to them, and how much they want to see this service kept open. I heard from parents and families who told me that this service is a lifeline that gives them peace of mind that their vulnerable loved ones are receiving familiar and personalised care whilst they recharge with crucial respite. I heard just how frightening the prospect of losing this service is for people across Lincolnshire.

It was disappointing that Cllr Clegg, the Executive Councillor responsible for Adult Social Care was unable to attend; however, I will meet with him to represent the concerns raised with me today, and those received in correspondence over recent weeks, and by the hundreds of people who have signed my petition.

** A607 Grantham Road, Waddington - Update on the planned roadworks this weekend **

Anglian Water have informed the council that they are not yet ready to progress with the works due to commence this weekend, and the planned road closures have therefore been postponed for now.

They will however be submitting a new permit application for temporary two way traffic lights to allow investigatory works to take place this weekend. This will involve a slip trench to determine the depth of the existing water main in the northbound carriageway.

Once I have more information, I’ll share a further update.

We are pleased to share the refreshed Conservative Shadow Executive team at Lincolnshire County Council for the coming year.

Led by Cllr Richard Davies, this experienced group will continue to provide strong scrutiny and accountability, holding the Reform UK administration firmly to account and standing up for residents across Lincolnshire.

Over the past year, the team has worked effectively to shine a light on unfair policy changes and, in some cases, force important U turns. That focus will continue, alongside a clear commitment to challenge poor decision making and ensure taxpayers’ money is spent wisely.

Residents were promised lower taxes, better services and stronger leadership. Instead, Lincolnshire has seen council tax rises, mounting financial pressures, cancelled projects, cuts to support services and growing concern over the administration’s grip on the council.

From losing out on major investment opportunities to scrapping local committees and weakening scrutiny, Reform’s first year in office has been marked by chaos, broken promises and poor judgement.

The updated Shadow Executive is as follows:

• Cllr Richard Davies – Opposition Leader and Children’s Services
• Cllr Lindsey Cawrey – Deputy Opposition Leader and Community Safety and culture
• Cllr Charlotte Vernon – Highways and transport
• Cllr Thomas Dyer – Growth and corporate property
• Cllr Martin Hill OBE – Resources
• Cllr Cain Parkinson – Environment and flooding
• Cllr Paul Martin – Planning and NSIPs
• Cllr Kelham Cooke – Adult social care
• Cllr Sue Woolley – Public health
• Cllr Gary Taylor – Waste and recycling

With significant challenges ahead, particularly around financial pressures and service delivery, this is a strong and capable team ready to highlight where things are going wrong and put forward credible alternatives for the people of Lincolnshire.
