Together with other Liberal Democrat Councillors, I have campaigned hard to ensure that Arun District Council retain the hugely popular 2 hour free parking scheme. At a committee meeting earlier in the year the Lib Dem led district council has guaranteed the scheme will continue until the council is dissolved in 2028. The news is even better because the scheme is now extended to three hours free parking which will come into effect in January2027!

I’m really pleased to see this fantastic new addition to Littlehampton, helping make our beautiful coastline more accessible for everyone.

Earlier this month, I was delighted when Amanda asked me to help test the new beach wheelchair while the team ironed out any final issues. It was great to see the thought and care that has gone into making sure it provides a safe and enjoyable experience for users.

The new FREE beach wheelchair loan scheme is now available from The West Green, next to the water play area, allowing residents and visitors with limited mobility to get closer to the sea and enjoy our beach.

This brilliant initiative has been delivered by Arun District Council in partnership with Freedom Leisure. It launches with an adult beach wheelchair, with a children's wheelchair expected later this summer 9It was ordered but there is a hold up with delivery). It's also great to hear that opportunities are being explored to bring the scheme to Bognor Regis too.
