In June of 1916, now 110 years ago...⏳

Several offices moved into the, still under construction, Cunard Building, depsite the Cunard building being officially finished in 1917. They weren't able to have a grand opening due to the Great War.
The Cunard is the youngest of the Three Graces, with the Port of Liverpool Building opened in 1907 and the Royal Liver Building (of course) opened in 1911.
But together we stand proud as iconic symbols of the City.

🐦‍⬛Liver Bird of the month 🐦‍⬛

The Mersey Chambers Liver Bird.

Often nicknamed the 'Third Liver Bird' because of its likeness to the Liver Birds on top of the Royal Liver Building. But as you've see there are so many more Liver Birds than just these three!

There's also a myth that this bird is actual the mother bird Bertie and Bella and that is also why she faces them! She does predate them by 40 years as this Liver Bird was built in 1870 and has been sat on top of the Mersey Chambers since that was built in 1878!

Something is wrong 🤔
Can you see what it is?

Of course the Royal Liver Building is missing its Royal Liver Birds! But Bella and Bertie aren't the only things missing from this picture.
Our Great George Clocks don't have any hands! 👐

This picture would have been captured in 1911, not too long before the Royal Liver Building was open to the public! And they were yet to finish the most iconic parts of the building, really cutting it close.

You can see that the Cunard Building is also missing, that's because that wasn't built until 1917, completing the Three Graces 🥰
