👋 Meet your local Liberal Democrat candidate: Francis Chubb

Francis is a resident who has long campaigned on issues affecting our community - from protecting green spaces to creating a fairer and more inclusive local environment.
He is a solicitor who co-founded a litigation practice in central London after working for a major law firm in South East Europe. Earlier in his career, Francis served as an Army officer and was based in Berlin during a historic period of change in Europe.
Francis believes local government works best when it is transparent, accountable, and focused on residents' needs.

If elected, his priorities include:
🌳 protecting local parks and green spaces
🏛 improving transparency and decision-making at the council
🏫 supporting local services such as education and infrastructure

Francis believes politics should be practical and rooted in community action - rolling up sleeves and getting things done locally.

He’s proud to be standing to represent residents in Northcote and Battersea.

What do the Liberal Democrats stand for here in Northcote and Battersea?

Our focus is simple: building a thriving, safer and greener community for everyone who lives here.

🔶 A Thriving Community
Supporting local businesses on Northcote Road, improving transport connections, making community services like libraries more accessible to residents, and ensure children and young people thrive.

🔶 A Safer Community
Working for safer streets, better lighting and CCTV where needed, and making sure pavements and roads are properly maintained so everyone can get around safely.

🔶 Clean and Green Neighbourhoods
Protecting our green spaces, planting more trees on our streets, and improving recycling and rubbish collection.

Local politics should put the residents at the centre – it should be about practical improvements that make everyday life better.
That’s what the Liberal Democrat team is standing for in our community.

We created this page to make it easier for residents to stay in touch with us, hear about local issues, and share what matters most in our community. Local politics should start with listening. Whether it’s safer streets, cleaner neighbourhoods, support for local businesses on Northcote Road, or better transport connections - your voice matters. Over the coming weeks, we’ll be sharing updates from our local campaign, introducing our candidates, and talking about the issues affecting residents across Northcote and Battersea.
