The Joint Committee on Human Rights has published its report on the human rights of children in the social care system in England.

The wide-ranging report calls for more to be done to make the system easy to navigate for those in need of support, improved complaint mechanisms and greater focus on the wider legacy of being in the care system.

Back in May, the Housing, Communities and Local Government Committee invited schools and youth groups to apply for an activity discussion pack, exploring how young people feel about votes at 16 and what support they need to feel ready to vote.

The response was fantastic. We heard from over 1,500 young people across schools, colleges and youth groups from across the UK.

In September, we'll be inviting schools and pupils to Parliament to hear directly from them and discuss their views as part of our modernising elections inquiry.
