The 9th meeting of the European Affairs Societies Network brought together student societies from across the UK that share a passion for European cooperation.

EU Ambassador Pedro Serrano welcomed participants and highlighted the important role young people play in shaping the future of EU–UK relations, particularly in areas such as science and technology.

We were also delighted to welcome three new members to the network: Aberystwyth University, Liverpool John Moores University and the University of Greenwich. With their addition, the network now brings together 36 student societies across the UK.

The meeting also marked the conclusion of the 2025/26 academic year. Outgoing committees handed over to their successors, graduating members joined the alumni network, and participants reflected on the network’s achievements over the past year.

European Affairs Societies are student-led organisations based at universities from Aberdeen to Cambridge, bringing discussions on European affairs to campuses across the UK. Interested in joining the network? Send us a DM to learn more and get involved.

A huge thank you to Imperial College London for hosting the 9th European Affairs Societies Network meeting.

It’s Day 2 of the Great Exhibition Road Festival!

We’re back in the World Science Zone at Imperial College London, showcasing how EU-funded research is helping tackle some of today’s biggest challenges. 🇪🇺

One of the featured projects is ICONIC, an EU-funded wind farm initiative delivered by 15 partners including Warwick University and Imperial College London. By combining artificial intelligence with digital twin technology, the project is developing Smart Control systems that optimise entire wind farms - not just individual turbines. The result? A potential increase in energy production of up to 20%.

Join us today, 7 June, in central London to discover groundbreaking research, meet the people behind innovative projects, and see firsthand how European collaboration is driving scientific progress and innovation.
