Today CPA UK, education and Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office signed a Memorandum of Understanding to support the upcoming UK-India New Parliamentarians Exchange pilot programme, which will forge closer ties between parliamentarians in both countries. Signed on the same day the UK-India Free Trade Agreement comes into force, the Memorandum marks the beginning of a new generation of parliamentarians from the UK and India working together. 🇬🇧🇮🇳

Last week CPA UK hosted a Caribbean AI workshop alongside the Anguilla House of Assembly, the Anguilla Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications, Utilities, Housing, Information, Technology and E Government Services and Unesco Caribbean. Over 4 days delegates discussed addressed a wide range of topics, including the application of AI in parliamentary work, cybersecurity risks and regional and international cooperation on AI adoption and regulation. The programme also emphasised how small island states have the opportunity to move fast and realise the benefits of digital transformation across society, while managing the risks these disruptive technologies pose.

This week we hosted a panel with to mark the launch of its Global Thematic Report on Sport Trafficking. The term ‘sport trafficking’ refers to the exploitation of young athletes who dream of pursuing sport professionally. Learn more by going to Mission 89’s website

This week we've hosted a delegation from Parliament of Kenya. Discussions ranged from procedures and petitions to maternity and paternity provisions for parliamentarians. These discussions will help them to review parliamentary standing orders.
