As a collective, we stand in solidarity with Patientsnotpassport and Docsnotcops. No one should be afraid to go to the doctor, either because they can’t pay or might be punished. And doctors should not have to police the people they treat. Since the 23rd October 2017, NHS England introduced regulations requiring ID checks for all patients accessing most secondary care. Trusts are forced to charge upfront those who cannot provide ID to prove their eligibility for NHS treatment.

DocsNotCops is a campaign group of NHS professionals and patients who believe health is a right and not a privilege. This policy is a public health disaster that will add more pressure to A&E as people fearful of discrimination and fees will only turn up to hospital when their illness has been an emergency instead of taking preventative steps to avoid a crisis.

What are their demands?
• End the Hostile Environment in the NHS
• End upfront charging for secondary care
• Scrap ID checks
• Don’t double the Health Surcharge – drop it!

Our friends are Headway East London are currently running an Emergency Appeal, so they are able to continue helping and showing solidarity to local brain injury survivors in lockdown.

Social isolation is hard on us all, but for survivors living with longterm disabilities, existing mental and physical health issues will deteriorate without support. Help protect them and their carers from loneliness, depression and further illness.

Today is International Day of Pink 💓💖💘

It is a day of action for communities across the world to remain united in celebrating diversity while raising greater awareness in stopping homophobic, transphobic and all forms of bullying. The purpose, of today is to create a more inclusive and diverse world. We want to encourage everyone to challenge social norms and stand up against bullying towards 2SLGBTQIA+.

This is why we wanted to share with you a blogpost we’ve written with some resources about health and wellbeing which affect specific genders and sexualities. Your healthcare experience is shaped by many aspects of your life. Gender and sexuality are no exception. LGBTQ+ equality is something which affects us all and it is important to be mindful of gaps in our current healthcare system, as well as ways in which things are starting to improve.

We have tried to provide a range of resources, from a variety of medias and a variety of engagement times. Please comment below if you wish to add anything to the blog!

Hope. By

and I have decided to take part in ‘s project! Every Monday an artist will create a prompt for us all to draw from. This week chose the word hope. ❤️

So today, I sat down to draw, after weeks of not touching any art materials and thought about what was giving me hope right now. The first image that came to mind was the window view from my family home in Corsica. This is where my grandparents were from and where I go every summer. Knowing I will be able to be there again some time, maybe not soon, but someday, gives me lots of hope. And right now, I’m treasuring all the hoping and day dreaming I can do from my bedroom floor. ☁️

It’s said over and over - We are living in an unprecedented time. The effects of the COVID-19 on global health, economy and living are still unknown and many cities are in lockdown. But there are small ways you can help and get involved while staying socially isolated. 💪

One of the ways you can get involved is to support local artists, who make beautifully crafted objects and whose income right now is solely dependant on selling their products.
