This is a bridge in the heart of our capital, vital for access to schools, businesses, and hospitals, but the truth is Labour has never wanted to re-open Hammersmith Bridge to motor traffic. All this announcement does is confirm what residents have long feared.

Despite being in power locally, regionally and nationally - Labour wilfully failed to lobby for the funding to fully repair this bridge. Our residents deserve better.
