International Day of Families
Families are the foundation of every child’s future - but for families whose daily lives are shaped by poverty, insecurity, and exclusion, children are at risk of irreparable harm. Out of school, undernourished, and surrounded by violence, alcoholism, and abuse, many children are left with little hope for a brighter future. Increasing numbers drift into early marriage, child labour, or life alone on the streets.
At Kidasha, we work to improve the lives of the most marginalised and hardest-to-reach families by:
• Helping children stay in school or access alternative learning and training opportunities.
• Rehabilitating and reintegrating street-connected children with their families.
• Establishing community hubs where children can access learning support and safe spaces to report protection concerns, while parents benefit from guidance, counselling, and skills training.
• Working with schools to increase the inclusion, attendance, and attainment of children from marginalised communities.
• Advocating with local government and employers to promote child protection and eliminate child labour and exploitation.
This International Day of Families, we celebrate the strength, resilience, and determination of the families we work with every day - families who continue to fight for a better future for their children despite overwhelming adversity.
Every child deserves the chance to thrive. Every family deserves support, dignity, and hope.
