🇵🇰 79TH INDEPENDENCE DAY OF PAKISTAN | DISTRICT JHELUM

District Jhelum marked Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day with a series of dignified and patriotic celebrations, reflecting the spirit of unity, national pride and commitment to the country.

The day began with the central flag-hoisting ceremony at the DC Office Jhelum, where Deputy Commissioner Jhelum Mir Reza Ozgen and District Police Officer Jhelum Shafique Ahmed Chaudhry jointly hoisted the national flag. Officers and officials of the District Administration and Police saluted the flag as the National Anthem was played.

Special prayers were offered for the peace, security, stability, progress and prosperity of Pakistan, followed by a ceremonial cake cutting to celebrate the historic occasion.

Later, a special Independence Day ceremony was held at District Council Hall Jhelum, attended by Additional Deputy Commissioners, Assistant Commissioners, officers of various district departments, police officials, citizens and children. Patriotic performances and activities highlighted the enthusiasm and love of the people of Jhelum for Pakistan.

Addressing the gathering, the Deputy Commissioner, DPO and other officials paid rich tribute to the leaders of the Pakistan Movement and the martyrs whose extraordinary sacrifices made independence possible. They reaffirmed their commitment to national unity, peace, development and public service.

The speakers emphasised that freedom is a priceless blessing and the result of immense sacrifices, and that protecting it is a collective responsibility. The younger generation was encouraged to learn about Pakistan’s history, honour the sacrifices of national heroes and play an active and positive role in building a stronger, peaceful and prosperous Pakistan.

The celebrations concluded with prayers for the nation and a renewed pledge of love, loyalty, unity and service to Pakistan.

Freedom is our identity. Unity is our strength. Progress is our destiny.

Commissioner Rawalpindi Division visited the Beautification Scheme of Sohawa Bazar, accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Jhelum Mir Reza Ozgen and other district administration officers.

The Commissioner reviewed the ongoing beautification and development works, received a detailed briefing on the project, and interacted with local citizens and traders. He emphasized quality ex*****on, improved public facilities, and the creation of a cleaner, safer and more attractive environment for the people of Sohawa.

DC Jhelum Mir Reza Ozgen briefed the Commissioner on the progress and key features of the beautification initiative.

ڈپٹی کمشنر جہلم میر رضا اوزگن کی زیرِ صدارت ضلع بھر میں صاف اور محفوظ پینے کے پانی کی فراہمی کے حوالے سے اہم اجلاس منعقد ہوا۔ اجلاس میں 205 واٹر فلٹریشن پلانٹس کی تنصیب، مجوزہ مقامات، تکنیکی امور اور منصوبے پر پیش رفت کا تفصیلی جائزہ لیا گیا۔

ڈپٹی کمشنر نے متعلقہ افسران کو ہدایت کی کہ منصوبے پر شفافیت، اعلیٰ معیار اور بروقت تکمیل کو یقینی بنایا جائے تاکہ شہریوں کو معیاری اور صاف پینے کا پانی میسر آ سکے۔

Today, I chaired a comprehensive review meeting with the AD Saf Pani Authority and XEN PHED to evaluate the progress of ongoing Safe Drinking Water initiatives across District Jhelum.

The meeting focused on accelerating project implementation, strengthening inter-departmental coordination, improving water supply infrastructure, and ensuring that every citizen has access to safe, reliable, and sustainable drinking water. Clear directions were issued to maintain the highest standards of quality, transparency, and timely ex*****on.
