North Somerset Council is currently consulting on changes to parking restrictions (including new double yellow lines) through Long Ashton. The consultation is open until 5pm on Friday 12 June 2026.
👉What is being proposed
The proposal includes new stretches of “no waiting at any time” (double yellow lines) on Long Ashton Road and Weston Road. These restrictions would remove on-street parking in those sections at all times.
👉Why the changes are being proposed
According to North Somerset Council, the changes are intended to:
🚌improve road safety and visibility,
🚌help buses and other traffic move more safely and efficiently, and
🚌reduce obstruction caused by parked vehicles.
👉How residents can raise concerns or express support
Residents are encouraged to submit their views directly to North Somerset Council. To be considered, responses must:
📌be submitted in writing (email [email protected] or post),
📌quote reference PSWLP/BSIP/LA, and
📌clearly explain the grounds for objection or support.
👉Involving the Parish Council
Long Ashton Parish Council is a consultee on this proposal and can submit a representation to North Somerset Council. Residents are therefore invited to:
📣send their comments to LAPC ([email protected]) by Thursday 11 June, and
📣also submit their own comments directly to North Somerset Council ([email protected]).
This allows the Parish Council to consider residents’ concerns when deciding whether to make a formal comment on their behalf, alongside individual submissions.
