🎈 Bristol International Balloon Fiesta 2026 – Information for Long Ashton Residents 🎈
The Bristol International Balloon Fiesta will take place at Ashton Court from Friday 7 August to Sunday 9 August 2026. A number of temporary traffic management measures will be in place to help manage the large number of visitors expected over the weekend.
Road closures and one-way systems will be in operation between 7.00pm and 2.00am on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings. These measures include closures on Longwood Lane, sections of the A370, and other roads around Ashton Court.
Residents should be particularly aware that a temporary one-way system on Yanley Lane, allowing traffic to travel from Glebe Road towards the A38 only. Vehicles will be able to leave Long Ashton via Yanley Lane but will not be permitted to travel in the opposite direction towards Glebe Road. Traffic signs will be displayed when the restriction is active.
A separate one-way system will operate on sections of the B3128 Ashton Road and Clevedon Road when required.
No waiting and no loading restrictions will be in force from 12:01am on Friday 7 August until 11:59pm on Sunday 9 August on a number of roads in and around Long Ashton, including parts of:
• Long Ashton Road
• Providence Lane
• Church Lane
• Glebe Road
• Parsonage Road
Residents requiring access through road closure points should have received a Resident Access Pass from the event organisers.
The Fiesta organisers also advise that access towards Bristol via the B3128 past The Ashton may not be possible between approximately 9.00pm and 11.00pm during peak event traffic management periods. During these times, residents travelling towards Bristol are advised to use alternative routes via Yanley Lane, Wild Country Lane or the A370 via Flax Bourton/Barrow Gurney.
