It was a pleasure to welcome the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Sir Harv Smyth and Lady Smyth.

They visited various units across station, heard the latest on 's Transition to Conflict and engaged with the numerous welfare provisions available to our people.

🤝 This week, welcomed Air Officer Commanding 2 Group, Air Vice-Marshal John Lyle on a visit to our station.

🗣 The visit included a tour of the facilities and equipment, and getting up-close with personnel across the 'whole force' who ensure the security of our skies everyday.

Featuring the Padre's Pooch who will welcome you with his calm demeanour; "Hank the Tank" who frankly doesn't want to be in work today; Deputy SWO "Nelly" who will raid your bin at any given opportunity; RAF Police Doggo "Cezar" who is always ready to pounce, and Sinful Sula who is on the receiving end in the the Service Discipline seat.

⚠ Flying Notice ⚠

Chinooks from 28 (AC) Squadron will be operating out of Leuchars Aerodrome from the 1st of September.

The aircraft may be seen operating around Leuchars, Fife, and surrounding areas for the duration of the exercise. Low-level circuits (50-100ft) over rural landscapes will be conducted as part of the aircrew's training - farms and villages will be avoided at all times.

🐴 We advise horse riders to wear hi-viz during hacks (rider and horse!) so the pilots can see you and divert accordingly during low-level sorties.

These training flights ensure Chinook aircrew are ready to secure the skies, no matter the flying conditions. The exercise will end by the 20th of September.

Taking to the skies alongside our allies 🇬🇧

🌊 Poseidon aircrews recently deployed on Exercise Lion Protector alongside other nations from the Joint Expeditionary Force (JEF).

🤝 Exercises such as this ensure military readiness and enhanced interoperability amongst the northern European nations.

Smiles all round for Harry & Bernie! 🦙

The alpacas and their owners made a stop at Lossiemouth during their 750-mile fundraising trip of Scotland for cancer charity 'Charlie Charlie One'. Families and personnel took a break from their busy day to say hello to the animals, and donate to a good cause at the same time!

Team Lossie have been busy in Scotland's capital over the past couple of weeks as The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo has returned to the city 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🎶

The theme of this year's production is “A Call to Gather” highlighting unity, tradition and global cooperation through military music and ceremonies. The line-up includes acts from the United Kingdom, United States, Germany, Australia and New Zealand.
