I always saw you as a man of stone,
A heart unbending, a voice like thunder.
You scolded me for every small mistake,
You never whispered hope, never said “You can.”
And I thought—perhaps—I was never a good son.

I obeyed your words, yet failed your dreams,
I walked your path, but never reached your heart.
I told myself you had no love for me…
But I was blind, blind to the way you loved.

For only when I left did I see—
How your sternness was strength you planted in me,
How your silence was an unspoken prayer,
How your distance was a depth of care.

Now, every moment, I ache for you.
Every breath carries the weight of your absence.
I lift my eyes to the sky, searching,
Hoping you can hear the cry of my soul:
I miss you.

May Allah, Most Merciful, grant you Jannah,
Where hearts are healed and love is endless. 🤲
