🚧 Rocket Park Accessible Roundabout Installation 🚧

We're pleased to let everyone know that work has started on the new accessible roundabout at Rocket Park!

For everyone's safety, please keep well away from the fenced-off work area while the installation is taking place. The contractors are using machinery and equipment that can be dangerous if approached.

And just to be clear... the mini digger on site is not a new piece of play equipment! 😄

Thank you for helping us keep the site safe while these exciting improvements are completed. We'll let you know as soon as the new roundabout is ready to use.

🚧 Exciting Improvements Coming to Rocket Park! 🚧

Lytchett Matravers Parish Council is pleased to announce that the first phase of the Rocket Park playground refurbishment programme will begin during the week commencing 15 June 2026.

A key feature of this phase is the replacement of the existing roundabout with a new accessible wheelchair carousel. This investment will help ensure that Rocket Park provides inclusive play opportunities for children of all abilities.

Alongside the installation of the carousel, further accessibility improvements will be undertaken. An additional pedestrian gate will be installed in the perimeter fence adjacent to the footpath, and a new pathway will be constructed to provide direct access to the carousel.

These improvements will significantly enhance access to this area of the playground for wheelchair users, families with pushchairs, and those with limited mobility.

The Parish Council is delighted to be delivering these improvements and looks forward to continuing the wider refurbishment programme in the coming months. We thank residents for their understanding while the works are being completed.

⚠️ Foxhills Park Update ⚠️

Sadly, the Bee Springer at Foxhills Park is temporarily out of action after being damaged.

For safety reasons, please do not attempt to use the equipment until it has been repaired or replaced. We are currently investigating the best course of action and will provide an update as soon as we have more information.

These photographs show the damage caused to the Astro on Saturday night. Around 30 children were seen on bikes and a moped, causing significant damage to the Astro and leaving behind a large amount of litter.

The Parish Council is working hard to improve and enhance the facilities in Lytchett Matravers, so it is extremely disappointing and disheartening to see village facilities being treated in this way.

Sadly, this follows recent vandalism at Eldon’s Pond, including damage to a memorial plaque, as well as ongoing littering and graffiti.

Please look after your village and respect the facilities that are there for everyone to enjoy.

All incidents are being reported to the police.
