Good news for Lytham St Annes.
Work has started on nine new supported living apartments for people with a learning disability and autistic people. This is being delivered by Lancashire County Council, under Reform UK's administration, working with RWP, one of the UK's largest supported living providers. Swanton Care will provide the on-site support.
Each apartment is self-contained with its own wet room. There's a shared garden and communal space, plus staff on hand 24 hours a day. Energy efficient tech like air source heat pumps is being fitted throughout, keeping running costs down for tenants.
Completion is due summer 2027.
This is what a Reform-run county council is getting on with. Real investment, real independence for people who need support, delivered without fuss. More schemes like this to come.
