Residents in will continue to benefit from protection against crime and antisocial behaviour after a court extended a closure order on a property linked to persistent disorder.

The address in Keary Road had been the subject of repeated complaints from local people, with reports of antisocial behaviour and suspected drug dealing.

Kent Police successfully secured a closure order at Maidstone Magistrates' Court in May 2026. Following the departure of the occupants, the property was secured and anyone attempting to enter without authorisation became liable to arrest, a fine and a prison sentence.

On Tuesday 25 August, officers attended Sevenoaks Magistrates' Court to apply for a further 3 month extension to the order. The application was granted, allowing Dartford Borough Council additional time to formally take possession of the property.

Anyone who attempts to enter the address while the order remains in place will continue to face the same penalties.

Chief Inspector Sarah Rivett said: 'This order will continue to provide respite to residents and enable us to work further with housing officers to prevent any future crime and disorder at the property.

'As always, we will use all the powers available to us to respond robustly to community concerns and bring cases before the courts where necessary.'
