Share Home is a not-for-profit Community Interest Company offering a new, lower cost option for housing and care at home. We match homeowners with a room to spare with like-minded individuals, creating safe, fulfilling and flexible shared living arrangements that offers independence, companionship and peace of mind.

It’s been a little while since our last post, but we’re excited to share what's been happening. Over the past two months, we’ve supported 7 homeowners across the UK in creating their ideal Share Home — a shared living arrangement that brings companionship, support and peace of mind.

These new Share Homes have come about in a variety of ways — from homeowners reaching out directly, to family members getting in touch on behalf of loved ones and through referrals from Age UK and Social Prescribers. It’s amazing to see how shared living continues to bring people together and make such a difference.

A huge thank you to everyone who has supported, referred and shared our work — together, we’re helping people feel more connected, secure and supported at home.

💚 Lovely Shared Housing Opportunity. You’ll be sharing with a kind, independent 90-year-old lady in her beautiful countryside home. She enjoys Tai Chi, drumming, and being outdoors, and would really welcome some friendly company. She shares her home with a sweet dog and 4 chickens 🐔. In exchange for reduced rent, she’d appreciate a helping hand with light household tasks like dog walking, cleaning, shopping, and shared cooking. Ideal for someone who loves animals, values meaningful connection, and would enjoy being part of a warm, supportive home.

💚 Lovely Shared Housing Opportunity. You’ll be sharing with a kind and gentle former RAF 87-year-old gentleman who enjoys a quiet, comfortable home and friendly company. He lost his wife two years ago and while he has carers who assist with daily tasks and housework, he would really like having someone around in the evenings for peace of mind and a bit of companionship. Someone who has a love for gardening, astronomy, watching war and old films would be especially welcome.
