💛 Businesses with Heart Needed 💛

The last few months have been nothing short of incredible.

What started as a simple idea has grown into something much bigger than I ever imagined. We’ve been overwhelmed by the support from our community, local businesses, trades and volunteers. Every share, recommendation, donation and act of kindness has helped us transform homes and, more importantly, give families hope.

As Project 33 continues to grow, we’re now looking to build long-term partnerships with businesses that have heart.

Many business owners know exactly what it feels like to start with nothing, work hard, overcome challenges and build something from the ground up. Those are the people we love working with. People who understand that success isn’t just measured in profit, but in the impact we leave on others.

We’re looking to connect with businesses who may be interested in partnering with us on future projects, including:

🏡 Kitchens

🛏 Beds & Mattresses

🚪 Fitted Wardrobes & Storage

🪵 Composite Decking & Outdoor Living

🛋 Furniture & Soft Furnishings

🪟 Blinds & Curtains

💡 Lighting & Electrical Supplies

🎨 Decorating Materials

But honestly, we’re open to any conversation. Sometimes the most incredible support comes from places we’d never have thought of.

For the families we support, these aren’t just products. They’re fresh starts. They’re a place to sleep, eat together, relax, heal and make new memories.

If you’re a business owner, know somebody who is, or think your company may be a good fit, we’d love to hear from you.

Together, we can create homes that change lives. 💛

A little shout out to our amazing community 💛

Project 33 is growing faster than we ever imagined, and we’re now at the stage where we desperately need a website.

Somewhere for families to apply, volunteers and trades to register, businesses to partner with us, and supporters to follow our journey.

The problem? Every penny we raise goes straight back into helping families.

So, is there a web designer, developer, or digital agency out there who would be willing to donate their time and skills to help us build something special?

If you can help, or know someone who can, please tag them below or send us a message.

One act of kindness could help us reach countless more families. 💛

A Very Special Thank You to a very special man 💙

I really need to give a special mention to someone who was an absolute hero on our latest Project 33 transformation.

Steve the Carpet Fitter from Partington was originally there to fit the stairs, landing and mum’s bedroom. That alone was an incredibly generous donation.

But as with every project, things didn’t quite go to plan…

We accidentally damaged the one carpet we were supposed to be keeping. Feeling awful, I asked Steve if he could fit a replacement and told him we’d cover the cost.

His answer?

“Absolutely not.”

He refused to take a penny and just got on with it.

Then came my next mistake.

The only room I was supposed to arrange flooring for… I’d completely forgotten.

Steve was already there, up to his eyes fitting carpets throughout the house, when I had to walk over and say,

“Oh my God, Steve…”

I explained what I’d done, expecting to have created a massive problem.

Instead, he simply went home, collected the flooring and came back to save the day yet again.

What people don’t see behind these projects is that there are individuals quietly stepping up whenever they’re needed, expecting nothing in return.

Even with a bad knee, Steve never once complained. He just cracked on.

And the thing that made me smile most?

When I first asked him to come and measure the house, he didn’t need to. Having fitted so many carpets in Partington over the years, he knew the layout and room sizes off the top of his head…all he needed to know the street 😂

Steve, thank you. For your generosity, your kindness, your reliability and for always finding a solution when we needed one.

If you’ve ever had carpets fitted by Steve the Carpet Fitter from Partington, please show him some love in the comments, leave him a review, or give his page a follow.

Good people deserve to be recognised, and this man is one of the good ones.

We’re incredibly grateful for everything you did for Sarah and her boys. 💛 and the endless support you had shown project 33

My mum, honestly. 😂💛

Every single Project 33, she turns up ready to help… but dressed like she’s off for a lovely lunch and a day of shopping.

We all looked at her and said, “Mum, you can’t paint a house in that!”

So she disappeared to her car, found an old pair of shorts in the boot, one of the neighbours donated her some pumps, 🤣

But that’s my mum all over. No matter what crazy idea I come up with, she’s always there, always supporting me, and always bringing a bit of laughter when the stress levels start rising.

I wouldn’t have it any other way. 💛

Kindness has a snowball effect. 💛

An exciting email landed in my inbox this afternoon.

Not long after, I received an amazing phone call.

Then another conversation with someone I’ve never met before, taking time out of their day to offer advice, guidance and support on how Project 33 can grow.

And that’s what has really struck me today.

Not just the support itself, but how many people genuinely want to help us succeed.

Project 33 has never come with a handbook. Every project has has its challenges & lessons

From that very first project where it was simply a case of “get in there and get it done”, to where we are now, learning about funding, structures, sustainability and how to build something that can help families for many years to come.

Every day is a school day.

We’re learning as we go. Making mistakes. Improving. Growing.

And the beautiful thing is that so many people are willing to share their knowledge, experience and encouragement along the way.

What started as a handful of people wanting to help one family is becoming something much bigger than the team could have imagined.

Not because of one person.

But because kindness inspires kindness.

One person helps another. Then another. Then another.

And before you know it, a whole community is moving in the same direction.

Thank you for believing in Project 33.

The journey is only just beginning. 💛

💙Men need support too.

One thing I’ve noticed through Project 33 is that many of the nominations we receive are for women and families. But life can be just as hard for men.

For years, men have been told to stay strong, crack on, keep going and deal with it. So often they do exactly that, quietly carrying the weight of the world on their shoulders without ever asking for help.

One of our volunteers, Alan, is one of those people.

If somebody needs help, he’s there. If somebody needs something fixing, he’s there. If somebody is having a tough time, he’s there.

Yet recently, life has thrown Alan more than his fair share of challenges. Loss, separation and having to rebuild parts of his life from scratch.

I popped round to see him recently and it got me thinking. Sometimes the people who give the most to others are the people who need a little support themselves.

And support isn’t always about money.

Sometimes it’s about helping someone create a place they enjoy coming home to. A comfortable chair to sit in. A room that feels welcoming. Somewhere to put their feet up after a long day and simply breathe.

So this is a little reminder to all the men reading this:

You don’t always have to be the strong one.

You don’t always have to pretend everything is fine.

And if you know a man who is having a tough time, who has fallen on hard times, who has spent years putting everyone else first, why not nominate them?

Because men deserve support too.💙

The bigger our reach, the more lives we can reach. 💛

For a page that’s only been around a short time, that’s a pretty big milestone.

To every single person who has liked a post, shared our page, commented, tagged a friend, told someone about us, donated, or simply followed our journey… thank you.

This isn’t about numbers.

What matters is what those numbers represent.

Every share helps us reach more people. Every recommendation helps us connect with more local businesses and trades. Every conversation about Project 33 helps spread the word about the families we’re supporting and the difference a community can make when it comes together.

The support over the last few weeks has honestly been incredible. Everywhere I’ve been lately, complete strangers have stopped me to talk about Project 33. It’s been lovely to hear how many people are following the journey and rooting for us to succeed.

As a registered CIC, we’re now looking ahead to the future. We’d love to carry out several projects every year and, in between those projects, continue finding new ways to support families across our community.

The reality is that funding is often the thing that determines how quickly we can move from one project to the next. Right now the pot empty!

So please keep sharing, keep talking about us, and if you know a business, organisation or individual who may be interested in supporting Project 33, we’d love to hear from them.

We’re building something really special here, and every single one of you is helping make that possible.

From all of us at Project 33, thank you for believing in what we’re doing. 💛💛

This room was incredibly special to one of our volunteers, Zoe.

Zoe’s granddaughter is non-verbal autistic, just like Harley, so she understood from the very beginning how important it was to create a space that worked for his needs.

This wasn’t about creating a picture-perfect bedroom. It was about creating a safe one.

Every decision was carefully considered. The room was kept minimal to reduce overwhelm, flooring was chosen over carpet for practicality, storage was adapted to make it safer and easier to maintain, and every detail was designed with Harley’s comfort and wellbeing in mind.

Knowing Harley loves cars, Zoe carefully added touches of his personality throughout the room whilst making sure the space remained calm and uncluttered.

Working alongside Zoe, Carol helped bring that vision to life. Together they created more than a bedroom. They created a space that understands Harley.

Sometimes lived experience is the greatest gift you can give another family. Zoe understood. Carol listened. And together they created something truly special. 💛

A massive thank you to Steve the Carpet FITTER(partington) for suppling the flooring… last minute 🙈 as I had totally forgot to buy it 🙈

Thank you so much Danny Aitken floors for boarding it out.

And Zac GR8 flooring for fitting it in about 10 minutes…. No exaggeration! The man’s a machine….3 local businesses… working together… for the same end goal.

The best boys is the bizz. 💙💙💙💪💪💪

One thing I never want people to do when they watch these transformations is judge how a home looked before.

None of us truly know what someone is carrying behind closed doors.

Depression, grief, trauma, ill health, caring responsibilities, financial struggles, domestic abuse, raising children with additional needs… sometimes people are simply surviving.

A messy room isn’t a reflection of someone’s worth.

Sometimes the kindest thing we can do is stop asking, “How did it get like this?” and start asking, “How can we help?”

This bedroom isn’t just about new furniture, fresh paint and pretty accessories. It’s about giving a mum a space to breathe, reset and remember that she matters too.

Always choose kindness. You never know what battle someone is fighting. 🤍
