| In the early hours of this morning (Tuesday 13 October), officers received several reports of a man attempting to open car doors on Clyde Street, Brownlow Way, and Faraday Drive in the Halliwell area of Bolton.

Our Bolton Response Team, and specialist fi****ms officers were deployed to the area immediately, and our teams were able to locate the suspect within 10 minutes of their arrival on scene.

One man, aged 53, has been arrested on suspicion of vehicle interference, and remains in custody as enquiries continue.

Robert Seals, 70, sadly passed away at home on Fletcher Street, on 12/10/2026.

There are believed to be no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.

| Mark Lord (03/10/1963) of Bryngs Drive, Bolton has been charged with murder.

He has been remanded into custody before appearing this morning (Friday 9 October) at Manchester Magistrates Court.

The charge relates to the death of a man at an address on Bryngs Drive on Wednesday 7 October.

| A murder investigation has been launched by officers in our Major Incident Team (MIT) after a person sadly died at an address on Bryngs Drive in Bolton.

At around 11.35am on Wednesday 7 October 2026, we were called to reports of a concern for welfare.

Officers attended the scene and located a person who had sadly died - no formal identification has been made but we are in contact with a potential next-of-kin.

A man in his 60s has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody for questioning.

| Officers and partners have seized illicit to***co products and counterfeit toys in a day of action in .

On Monday 5 October 2026, officers from Bolton Neighbourhood Policing Teams (NPTs) and the District Intelligence Unit (DIU), supported several multiagency visits alongside partners from Bolton Council Trading Standards and Wagtail detection dog specialists.

The teams visited eight premises including v**e shops in and around Bolton Town Centre. A number of items were seized including illegal v**es, illicit ci******es and to***co, and counterfeit toys.

A detection dog was on hand to help find hidden compartments concealing illegal commodities. In one premises, a large concealment was discovered behind a wall filled with illicit ci******es.

Inspector Hibbert, from the Bolton South Neighbourhood Team, said: "Yesterday officers and partners carried out a day of action, as part of Operation Machinize, the ongoing NCA-coordinated project to tackle money laundering and criminal use of cash-intensive high street businesses.

“As a result of this work, Trading Standards officers removed large quantities of harmful substances; illegal v**es, illicit ci******es, and counterfeit toys that otherwise would have be sold to our local communities and put people at risk.

“Our work does not stop here, and we will continue to protect our communities from the harms of illegal products, while ensuring those involved in this criminality are held accountable."
